<br />
I know every blog has been posting fall favourites for the past 2 months. But fall really started here about 3 weeks ago, and I live in cold Ottawa, Canada. By fall I mean actual cold weather (temperature below 10deg), leaves all turning orange and cold rain....so I'm "technically" not late with my fall favourites post :)<br />
<br />
Some of these products are new (well to my stash) and some I've been enjoying for a few years. I just have rediscovered them:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/September%202013/672ce122-21d0-49d2-a47b-aab46cb7e348_zps9993a7a0.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 672ce122-21d0-49d2-a47b-aab46cb7e348_zps9993a7a0.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/September%202013/672ce122-21d0-49d2-a47b-aab46cb7e348_zps9993a7a0.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">1. Nars Brousse eyeshadow duo </span>- This duo is a favourite because I love smokey eyes, especially softer shades of smokey for fall. I usually wear the black violet shade on my lid, the sable shade in the crease and then smudge a black liner close to my lashline. It's a very easy duo to wear and the result is HOT! This is a product I come back to every fall.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">2. Chanel Plum Attraction blush</span> - another old favourite, Plum Attraction looks very bold in the pan but I use a powder brush to apply a bit on my cheekbones and love the effect it gives. It goes very well with Nars Brousse on the eyes too ;)<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">3. Dior Etoile fusion mono eyeshadow </span>- I've been eyeing the Dior fusion shadow for months and two weeks ago I finally pulled the plug on shade Etoile, a gorgeous shimmering white. Etoile looks amazing on the tearduct or as an overall wash on the lid with my favourite matte shade in the crease (usually UD Naked or MAC Plum Poison). I debated between the Dior or the nearly identical Chanel product but went with Dior in the end as this particular shade was more pigmented and also you pay less for more product with Dior.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">4. Makeup Forever Aqua Liner #4L</span> - I'm a huge fan of the MUFE aqua liner for pigmentation and durability and 4L in particular gets a lot os use as I adore burgundy with my amber shade eyes. I usually wear this liner on the lower lashline and then smudge with MAC 229 brush.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">5. Annabelle Cherry pencil </span>- This shade is totally me, it's a reddened plum and goes with all the makeup described above. I get a good 4 hour wear with these pencils and the pigmentation is phenomenal. Definitely a drugstore gem!<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">6. YSL #27 (Peche chera-cola) Rouge Pur Couture</span> - Another product it took me a while to try but glad I did. It's a pricy lip product but I love how soft and creamy this feel on my lips and it truly lasts a long time. I also usually have a hard time with peach shade but this one is very flattering on cool complexions.<br />
<br />
Some swatches for you guys:<br />

<br />
Oh and in other news I put in an order over at Sephora with my friends and family 20% coupon. I caved in and got the Hourglass powder palette and one of Nars eye paints. Cannot wait to get them and play. Did any of you guys get something from Sephora lately?Shadowy Ladyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08170268219457214588noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6641567493616397481.post-85687605441356627562013-09-19T11:38:00.002-04:002013-09-19T11:38:22.815-04:00Olive Eyes, Sparkly Coral LipsSeptember 19, 2013<br />
<br />
Hi guys! I'm currently fighting some kind of virus and feeling absolutely miserable. It's tough being sick and having a baby but I find episodes like this really have built my character as a person.<br />
<br />
This look is from a few days ago. As you can see I have chopped my hair quite a bit. The ends were getting pretty dry and I was due for a trim. I'm still loving the dark shade and the fact that this neon blouse is making me look quite a bit tanner than I currently am. I did an olive toned eye paired with shimmery coral lips to compliment the blouse (and the olive pencil skirt I was wearing).<br />
<br />
<b>For Face</b>: I used a thin layer of <i>Nars Tinted Moisturizer (Alaska)</i> and set with <i>Ben Nye's Translucent Powder</i>. I contoured my cheeks using <i>Chanel Notorious powder</i> and added <i>Nars Deep Throat</i> blush to the apple of my cheeks.<br />
<br />
<b>For Eyes</b>: I used <i>MAC Painterly p/p</i> as a base and contoured the eyes crease with <i>MAC Velvet Moss e/s (DC)</i>. I then added a moist layer of <i>OCC Lafayette pigment</i> all over the lids. I highlighted the middle section of the lid with <i>MAC Amber Lights e/s</i> and the browbone with <i>MAC Blanc Type</i>. I lined the lower lashline with <i>Lise Watier Black Gold e/l (DC)</i> and added two coats of <i>Lancome Hypnose Drama</i> mascara.<br />
<br />
<b>For lips:</b> I first lined them with <i>MAC Temperature Rising l/l</i> and then dabbed <i>Chanel Teheran RC</i> on top.<br />
<br />

I'm trying to ease into the swing of the FOTD's so hope you guys liked this simple look. I have some fall lipstick reviews coming up for next week :)Shadowy Ladyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08170268219457214588noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6641567493616397481.post-56539341339980036162013-09-14T11:44:00.003-04:002013-09-14T11:44:53.772-04:00I'm the Worst Blogger Ever :(September 14, 2013<br />
<br />
Hi guys! I know it's been two months since I last posted. At least I have some excuses:<br />
<br />
1. I have gone back to work and it's exhausting keeping up with a full time job, taking care of baby, cooking, cleaning, maintaining regular workout,... you get my point.<br />
<br />
2. I just wasn't feeling "it" for the last little while. Blogspehere looks very commercialized to me these days; very different from when I started back in 2008. I find that all the jazz and light has turned me off a bit on commenting a lot of blogs I used to read and blogging myself.<br />
<br />
That being said, I missed blogging and through the years BeautySpot has become such a big part of my life that I thought I should at least attempt to make one post per week. I'm so grateful for those of you guys who still commented/messaged even when during my absence. Interacting with you guys really is my favourite part of blogging.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">HAIR</span> Anyway, this wasn't just an apologetic post. I posted some pictures of my new "fall" hair on Instagram a couple of weeks ago but thought I share them here too. I got them dyed over the Labour Day long weekend to a dark red shade with a purple base. My mom is my hair stylist as usual and once again she nailed it! I had SO missed my dark hair. I meant the highlight was an ok change but I will always be a dark haired girl at heart.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/September%202013/9be9c991-ab17-4562-8dba-4d2da79d9968_zpsb3db54be.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 9be9c991-ab17-4562-8dba-4d2da79d9968_zpsb3db54be.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/September%202013/9be9c991-ab17-4562-8dba-4d2da79d9968_zpsb3db54be.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Plus, this hair goes much better with my signature makeup style of dark/red lips.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/September%202013/c67b19df-07ff-4980-94b1-f6a39ff82498_zps538dd118.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo c67b19df-07ff-4980-94b1-f6a39ff82498_zps538dd118.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/September%202013/c67b19df-07ff-4980-94b1-f6a39ff82498_zps538dd118.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Now I know everyone and their mother is showing their excitement about fall, but unlike many places here in Ottawa Canada the weather is <u>actually</u> fall-like. We are down to a high of 14C most days and I'm thrilled. I've never been a beach babe and am down with the return of crisp and cool air.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">NAILS</span> to celebrate the return of dark shades, I got myself a new nailpolish from Essie's fall collection. I do own quite a few polishes and even though I purge often, my collection is still spilling over :/ So I'm quite picky about what I buy. It has to be absolutely unique and I think Essie's Vested Interest is:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/September%202013/IMG_6859_zpsa5c30932.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo IMG_6859_zpsa5c30932.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/September%202013/IMG_6859_zpsa5c30932.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
It's a dust green shade and on me, I see blue undertones. If you have cool undertones you will likeley see the same on you. Either way this is a great fall shade and should look good on about every single skintone. The formula on this is ah-mazing! Seriously Essie has been so consistent for me the past few years formula-wise. I'me never disappointed. This was pretty much a one coater but I did a second thin coat because old habits die hard:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/September%202013/IMG_6860_zps7fc15aed.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo IMG_6860_zps7fc15aed.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/September%202013/IMG_6860_zps7fc15aed.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Hope you guys enjoyed this random post. I gotta go get Sofia now who's been singing to herself in her crib. Will have some makeup post coming your way next week!<br />

<br />
Hi guys! Sorry I've been MIA for a couple of weeks now. I'm still suffering from post-viral effects of the longest running cold I've had all my life. I've seriously been sick since middle of May!!! Now I have dry coughs that actually keep me up most of the night, NOT fun.<br />
<br />
Anyhuw, time for another baby update, the 10 months one:<br />
<br />
<b>Baby stats</b>: I have no idea how much she weighs, I would say around 22lbs. We did switch to size 4 Pampers a month ago and she's in 12-18 months or 18months plus clothing.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/July2013/31783210-674a-4daf-8872-57d8993ec2c5_zps82b54c5b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="sofia1 photo 31783210-674a-4daf-8872-57d8993ec2c5_zps82b54c5b.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/July2013/31783210-674a-4daf-8872-57d8993ec2c5_zps82b54c5b.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Health:</b> Sofia also suffered with on and off cold this past month. Poor thing even has the post viral cough but not quite as bad as mine.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/July2013/d467f5c5-e522-40f1-bee3-7e625eb26a01_zpsaf7ec094.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Sofia2 photo d467f5c5-e522-40f1-bee3-7e625eb26a01_zpsaf7ec094.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/July2013/d467f5c5-e522-40f1-bee3-7e625eb26a01_zpsaf7ec094.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Eat/Weaning:</b> Sofia has an amazing appetite. Her most preferred food is still meat but she eats everything we eat. I'm also still weaning her off the boob and right now she's only breastfed in the morning and has three bottles of formula for the rest of the day (at noon, 4 pm and 6:30 pm).<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/July2013/77c6dee2-9fe5-4bae-94ad-e596343fbd01_zps4184a200.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Sofia6 photo 77c6dee2-9fe5-4bae-94ad-e596343fbd01_zps4184a200.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/July2013/77c6dee2-9fe5-4bae-94ad-e596343fbd01_zps4184a200.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Sleep:</b> still good, she sleeps through from 7 pm to around 6:30 am. When the cold was at its worth, I did hear her cough through the night but not enough to wake her up (just woke me up, waaaa). She also has two daily naps.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/July2013/78f18c99-f0c9-4774-9651-27651ea7b296_zps08a2af97.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Sofia3 photo 78f18c99-f0c9-4774-9651-27651ea7b296_zps08a2af97.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/July2013/78f18c99-f0c9-4774-9651-27651ea7b296_zps08a2af97.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Teeth:</b> still only the bottom two. No sign of any others.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/July2013/04e26138-13e5-45b8-9fa0-af91e0951956_zpsa0835586.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Sofia5 photo 04e26138-13e5-45b8-9fa0-af91e0951956_zpsa0835586.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/July2013/04e26138-13e5-45b8-9fa0-af91e0951956_zpsa0835586.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Milestones</b>: Let me see...<br />
- more words: mama, dada, hi (all in context), also baba, nana, duh, poo<br />
- cruising between furniture<br />
- imitating everything we do and trying to say what we say.<br />
- plays music on her walker and starts to sway (dance) from side to side. Gets psyched if I tag along :D<br />
- waving hello to everyone and their moms, she even waves to dogs, pigeons,...<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/July2013/a8e94ba7-fecc-40a7-affd-4e87b384a05e_zps660b3902.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Sofia4 photo a8e94ba7-fecc-40a7-affd-4e87b384a05e_zps660b3902.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/July2013/a8e94ba7-fecc-40a7-affd-4e87b384a05e_zps660b3902.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>How I'm doing:</b><br />
<br />
- I'm back to work in 2 weeks, eeeek! I'm excited but also sad. Made all daycare arrangements this past weekend and everything is ready to go. I will be doing two weeks of part-time before switching back to full-time work.<br />
- Exercise is still on full force. I'm at my goal weight of 148lbs and have achieved a 6 pack (it's faint but it's there). I'm in the best shape of my life and happy that my efforts have paid off.<br />
- I've been off sleep meds for nearly 2 months now. I still decently most of the time now but the cold/dry cough has put a bit of damper on that. I admit I'm tired about 50% of the time.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">There you have it. Hope you guys enjoyed this post. I'm faaaar behind in my makeup/hair/nail posts but will try to squeeze a few in this coming week, Hope you all have a great weekend!</span><br />

<br />
Hi guys! I'm very minimal with makeup these days but still love me at least a few beauty products per day :D Thought I share my early summer favourites with you guys:<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Lip Products</span><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/ede049fa-d552-4cdd-9a91-3e94f8097723_zps51bd6a27.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="lips1 photo ede049fa-d552-4cdd-9a91-3e94f8097723_zps51bd6a27.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/ede049fa-d552-4cdd-9a91-3e94f8097723_zps51bd6a27.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
My favourite category!! Summer is the only season where I actually wear lipgloss. I love <b>Nars Babe</b> as it's a gorgeous pigmented warm red gloss and is not sticky. Another rediscovery is my ancient <b>MAC Sock Hop </b>(LE - Heatherette, 2008) which is a beautiful light coral cream. When it comes to lipsticks, I also go for warmer and creamier. <b>Guerlain Rose Bengal Rouge Automatique</b> is a warm rose that applies with some shimmer but is not gritty. <b>Chanel Antigone Rouge Coco Shine</b> is a lightly pigmented strawberry red and <b>MUFE #37 Rouge Artist</b> is a loud pink coral that will definitely make your lips stand out.<br />
<br />
Swatches:<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
I'm currently a fan of one product only eye makeup and hence gravitate towards cream shadows and bright eyeliners. <b>L'Oreal Permanent Khaki Colour Infalliable</b> is a shimmery olive green that is great as a lid colour blended up. <b>Maybelline Barely Branded Color Tattoo </b>(light golden beige) is an awesome all over colour and eye brightener. <b>Chanel Illusoire Illusion d'Ombre</b> is a tres chic sparkling mauve, love this one smoked out with a dark matte purple for the night. <b>Shiseido H4 cream shadow</b> (DC'd) is a unique blend of warm pink with green flash that looks wet when applied to the eyes. <b>MUFE #22 aqua cream pot</b> is the most gorgeous emerald green that I love applying on as a liner, base for green shadow or for the sparkling <b>Lise Watier Golden Green Eye Glitter</b>. I tend to apply <b>Gosh Blue Lagoon Velvet Touch eyeliner</b> on my lower lashline to elevate a neutral look.<br />

<br />
I'm super low maintenance with face products in the warmer months. Lately been loving my Lancome Teint Miracle foundation (I use shade 4C - Buff) as it's light and natural on. I also apply MUFE Full Cover concealer ins shade #6 under my eyes and on scars and go a bit overload with Nars Laguna bronzer (another rediscovery in my stash). I need to bronze a lot these days as I did a spray tan on my body and now my face and body don't match, lol!<br />

<br />
I'm traditional so in the summer I go nuts over brights and neons. I've also been loving a full on white manicure using OPI Alpine Snow, so elegant and goes with everything. My current fave neons are Zoya Lola (gorgeous bright pink) and China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard (super neon green, great on toes). I also enjoy the bright orange red that is Essie Meet me at the Sunset.<br />

I wear red lips all year long. I tend to gravitate towards deeper and matter lips when the temperature drops and shinier and pinker reds during the summer. I've been sporting this combo for the past few weeks on repetition:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/39cf05b8-3b01-4b23-b9e4-e30d0ed02ebf_zpsb5673a4d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="lips photo 39cf05b8-3b01-4b23-b9e4-e30d0ed02ebf_zpsb5673a4d.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/39cf05b8-3b01-4b23-b9e4-e30d0ed02ebf_zpsb5673a4d.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I achieve this juicy pink toned red using two of my all time favourite products: Chanel Cambon Rouge Coco and Emoi Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/514e46b3-63b9-4307-a265-99e4de62eb4d_zpsc564391d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="chanel1 photo 514e46b3-63b9-4307-a265-99e4de62eb4d_zpsc564391d.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/514e46b3-63b9-4307-a265-99e4de62eb4d_zpsc564391d.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/c49ae870-a89b-4fa7-9d3b-97cc02fd9355_zpsa6c62218.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Chanel2 photo c49ae870-a89b-4fa7-9d3b-97cc02fd9355_zpsa6c62218.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/c49ae870-a89b-4fa7-9d3b-97cc02fd9355_zpsa6c62218.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Cambon is a creamy red with strong pink tones. I know I have raved about it before so no need to repeat myself. Emois is a raspberry gloss with a creamy and non-sticky texture. It really helps bring out the pink tones in Cambon even more:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/37fe5533-c028-47ad-aef8-23b7aff04668_zpse1dbd71d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="me2 photo 37fe5533-c028-47ad-aef8-23b7aff04668_zpse1dbd71d.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/37fe5533-c028-47ad-aef8-23b7aff04668_zpse1dbd71d.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Oh, my highlights are growing on me now. I actually like them better when my hair is au natural (as in air dried and wavy):<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">How do you wear red lips in the summer?</span><br />
<br />Shadowy Ladyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08170268219457214588noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6641567493616397481.post-5503872180302729832013-06-10T10:32:00.002-04:002013-06-10T10:32:28.633-04:00Got New Highlights!June 10, 2013<br />
<br />
I was bored with my hair again so I decided to add some sunny highlights for the summer. As usual my hairstylist/hair dresser is my mom. I'm not really used to hair this light but I'm warming up to it already.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/7351071d-02ef-4101-94a4-4e66964ff820_zps76f38fdf.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="hair1 photo 7351071d-02ef-4101-94a4-4e66964ff820_zps76f38fdf.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/7351071d-02ef-4101-94a4-4e66964ff820_zps76f38fdf.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
So weird how all my pics are in my car :/ Here I had blow dried the do, which is something I rarely do...especially in the summer:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/3b5410c5-2a60-4f2a-b654-6f651f124dc7_zps84008981.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="hair2 photo 3b5410c5-2a60-4f2a-b654-6f651f124dc7_zps84008981.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/3b5410c5-2a60-4f2a-b654-6f651f124dc7_zps84008981.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I will likely keep this colour until September and then go back dark. I also coloured my eyebrows as I don't like dark brows with light hair. What do you guys think?<br />
<br />
Also, I used to have a series here in the blog posting looks using my neglected lipsticks called <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Lipstick Stash</span>. I'm thinking of picking that up again as I'm falling into the habit of neglecting products again. So look out for new FOTD's with existing lip products once or twice a week :)<br />
<br />
Have a good Monday everyone!Shadowy Ladyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08170268219457214588noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6641567493616397481.post-26770288918743630352013-06-04T12:05:00.001-04:002013-06-04T12:05:03.974-04:00Many Ways to Wear Orange Lips This SummerJune 4, 2013<br />
<br />
I will share a secret with you guys; I used to be terrified of the colour orange. I literally didn't own anything in that shade though I'm not colour shy. Only last year did I finally warm up to this warm hue. I found that it actually really helped brighten up my complexion in the summer months.<br />
<br />
I don't feel that I should always be wearing full on orange lips though. There are subtler and bolder takes on the trend. Today I will show you my top five orange toned lip products:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/c31e3d42-2940-4ea2-aede-40496641a176_zpsea78b7f4.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="lipsticks photo c31e3d42-2940-4ea2-aede-40496641a176_zpsea78b7f4.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/c31e3d42-2940-4ea2-aede-40496641a176_zpsea78b7f4.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/5ba4b604-4093-4bc4-a273-44d5969ab601_zps2c70ba3e.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="swatch photo 5ba4b604-4093-4bc4-a273-44d5969ab601_zps2c70ba3e.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/5ba4b604-4093-4bc4-a273-44d5969ab601_zps2c70ba3e.jpg" /></a><br />
<i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">From left to right: Nars Montego Bay pure matte lipstick, Lancome Miss Coquelicot Rouge in Love, MAC Morange Lipstick, Nars Heat Wave Lipstick</span></i><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Nars Montego Bay (peach)</span> - the subtlest way to orange is a light peach shade. This shade has enough warmth in it to participate in the orange trend in my opinion. I like the texture of Nars pure matte lipsticks as they are not drying. This shade will look gorgeous with a coral lipgloss on top:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/c5d9f03d-c9e0-4965-bdbe-36f716d5ca90_zps1bfb6bd9.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="peach1 photo c5d9f03d-c9e0-4965-bdbe-36f716d5ca90_zps1bfb6bd9.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/c5d9f03d-c9e0-4965-bdbe-36f716d5ca90_zps1bfb6bd9.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/9701a681-62f3-48fa-b524-bb713aa0f71c_zps5bfee54d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Peach2 photo 9701a681-62f3-48fa-b524-bb713aa0f71c_zps5bfee54d.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/9701a681-62f3-48fa-b524-bb713aa0f71c_zps5bfee54d.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Lancome Miss Coquelicot (tangerine)</span> - tangerine is a great popping shade of orange that suits all complexions. The Rouge in Love formula is hydrating and feels great on the lips especially in the summer. If you are new to orange, start here :)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/4a9f3c57-e68d-4a97-b167-03fbcc8e2f4e_zpsf4682b7e.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="tangerine1 photo 4a9f3c57-e68d-4a97-b167-03fbcc8e2f4e_zpsf4682b7e.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/4a9f3c57-e68d-4a97-b167-03fbcc8e2f4e_zpsf4682b7e.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/June%202013/608575d9-904f-4d08-8652-6197df6afd23_zps350df87f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="tangerine2 photo 608575d9-904f-4d08-8652-6197df6afd23_zps350df87f.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/June%202013/608575d9-904f-4d08-8652-6197df6afd23_zps350df87f.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">MAC Morange (bright true orange)</span> - this is as orange as I could personally go. Morange still has some red tones to it which made it very wearable. I have tried more yellow oranges and they clash with my colouring. Morange makes a great statement lip and the amplified formula is very long lasting.<br />
<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Nars Heat Wave (bright red orange)</span> - aaaaah this is my all time fave warm red lipstick. Heat Wave is gorgeous in all seasons and works well with a cat eye or smokey eye. I adore Nars lipsticks as they're the only ones I find survive extreme heat/humidity and are melt-proof.<br />

In all pictures, I'm wearing a thin layer of Nars tinted moisturizer in Alaska and blush in Deep Throat. On my eyes I have a blue eyeliner by Gosh and Maybelline Colossal mascara. Orange lips are actually very versatile though. You can wear them with grey smokey eyes for a tonal contrast or with warm brown shades for complimentary effect.<br />

<br />
Time for another one of these yet again! My baby's already starting to resemble a toddler when it comes to her temper lol! But she does still look like a baby <3 nbsp="" p=""><br /><b>
Stats:</b> wears 12-18 months clothing exclusively.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/7c7dcfdd-08c1-4b4b-8017-21a7fe45077e_zps1093830b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Sofia photo 7c7dcfdd-08c1-4b4b-8017-21a7fe45077e_zps1093830b.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/7c7dcfdd-08c1-4b4b-8017-21a7fe45077e_zps1093830b.jpg" /></a><br />
<br /><b>
Health:</b> Poor baby has a cold again :( She's also been teething all last month and finally got her bottom two teeth.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/2a53c2b0-67f6-4e7d-9057-9c4a1c34c783_zps4f11da9b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 2a53c2b0-67f6-4e7d-9057-9c4a1c34c783_zps4f11da9b.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/2a53c2b0-67f6-4e7d-9057-9c4a1c34c783_zps4f11da9b.jpg" /></a><br />
<br /><b>
Eat:</b> Sofia is now breastfed 3 times a day and has a bottle of formula before bed. She has three meals with us and eats exactly what we eat. I've finished purreing about 3 weeks ago as she was resisting being fed. She's much happier feeding herself and it's a lot less work for me. I'm definitely a fan of baby led weaning :D<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/c0181809-8a80-40be-89c6-548bab843847_zpse0cce94c.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="us photo c0181809-8a80-40be-89c6-548bab843847_zpse0cce94c.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/c0181809-8a80-40be-89c6-548bab843847_zpse0cce94c.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Sleep - sleeps through the night but is going to be a bit later now (7:30 pm instead of 6:30 pm). She wakes up around 7 am and has two naps (1 to 1.5 hour each).<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/8e36632d-ba52-4e0c-bcac-a8b80601be3b_zps7fad088b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 8e36632d-ba52-4e0c-bcac-a8b80601be3b_zps7fad088b.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/8e36632d-ba52-4e0c-bcac-a8b80601be3b_zps7fad088b.jpg" /></a><br />
<br /><b>
Milestones:</b> Oh boy, quite a few this month again:<br />
<br />
- standing supported against her activity table or furniture<br />
- two bottom teeth finally (though not sure this is a milestone)<br />
- said mama in context first time on Mother's Day and "dada" in context a few days later. My husband is away on business this week so we talk on Facetime. As soon as Sofia sees her dad's face she yells "dada" and claps her hand with a big grin on her face<br />
- waves hello and goodbye.<br />
- shares her food with us with prompted. And when we thank her she claps for herself, lol!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/c2382e51-5d3c-41b2-8d9e-13f2ff5ae6ea_zps6921df33.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Sofia2 photo c2382e51-5d3c-41b2-8d9e-13f2ff5ae6ea_zps6921df33.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/c2382e51-5d3c-41b2-8d9e-13f2ff5ae6ea_zps6921df33.jpg" /></a><br />
<br /><b>
How I'm doing:</b><br />
<br />
- ughhhh, sleep is still a challenge and I can't even blame my sleeping 12h straight a night baby. I'm much better than last month but not quite back to normal. Right now I'm no longer on sleep meds which is great and I'm allowing my body to re-adjust to deeper sleep.<br />
- I lost another dress size down to size 6 now, yeyyyy! Still exercising consistently - zumba, weight training, ball exercise, core workout.<br />
- Had a meeting with my boss about my imminent return to work (in 2 months). He will be changing my responsibilities and I think overall I will be pretty happy.<br />
- Feeling still sad about leaving my baby at daycare though. I've been taking her to the gym with me and letting the daycare there watch her while I work out and she seems fine with them. I think it's mostly the moms who suffer. Any back to work tips are appreciated :)<br />
<br />

<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">On another note, I have a few posts on the queue: </span><br />

<br />
Hi guys! Based on the feedback I got here and on Instagram, I'm in the process of drafting a post on my weight loss/get fit post baby. That post should be up early next week. In the meanwhile, here's a look from last week I almost forgot to post.<br />
<br />
I have this old Inglot shadow in the twist up pan that I haven't used in years!!! I think it's called double sparkle 428 and is a dark indigo with purple undertones. I decided to incorporate it into a smokey blue eyes and also add the gold side of my shattered Nars Star Sailor. I resisted the temptation to do nude peach lips and went for shiny coral lips.<br />
<br />
Here's a pic:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/d458dc9a-79cb-49e0-a429-ee47d58c9725_zps099e3640.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="1-18/5/13 photo d458dc9a-79cb-49e0-a429-ee47d58c9725_zps099e3640.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/d458dc9a-79cb-49e0-a429-ee47d58c9725_zps099e3640.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
And what I used:<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<b>For Face</b>: Used <i>Marcelle BB Cream (shade Light to Medium)</i> as my primer and <i>Nars Sheer Matte Foundation (shade Fiji)</i> as my foundation. I then applied <i>Nars Deep Throat blush </i>on the apple of my cheeks.</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<b>For Eyes</b>: Applied <i>UDPP</i> as base all over and <i>Lise Watier Marin eyeliner</i> as base for lids and lower lashline. I then applied <i>Inglot Double Sparkle 428 e/s </i>all over lid and lower lashline and blended into the crease. I used <i>MAC Velvet Moss e/s (DC)</i> as a transition from blue to green into my crease. I finished by applying the gold side of <i>Nars Star Sailor duo</i> above the crease and as highlight. I tightlined using Lise Watier Smokey Kohl liner and finished with two coats of the <i>Maybelline Colossal Volume </i>mascara<i>.</i></div>

<br />
Hi guys! I wanted to make this post a few months ago but thought as summer is fast approaching, this is the prefect time for it. Before I start, I should mention that I'm by no means a nutritionist or a fitness instructor. I will just be sharing what has worked for me and hoping to help some of you guys :)<br />
<br />
This can apply to anyone regardless of having a baby or not. It's never too late to change your lifestyle and be more healthy and fit :)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/Aug%2011/IMG_6556.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="me photo IMG_6556.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/Aug%2011/IMG_6556.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i>My pre-pregnancy self (summer 2011)</i></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i><br /></i></span></div>
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Facts:</span><br />
<br />
- I'm not a skinny girl and don't want to be. I've always been happy with my curvy body shape but never motivated enough to make it fitter.<br />
- I weighed 158lbs before I got pregnant and my height is 5'7" so I was in no way chubby but I could be better. I did not have a flat stomach since I was 18.<br />
- Before my pregnancy, I worked out but only 1-2 times a week and not even always. I stuck to at home DVD's.<br />
- I put on about 22lbs by the end of my pregnancy (below average for my BMI) but I was very much eager to get back into shape.<br />
- My focus was not to lose too much weight (max 10 lbs) but get my muscle definition back.<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i>The day I went into labour (39 weeks pregnant)</i></span><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Early months post baby:</span><br />
<br />
- Sofia weighed 8lb 8oz so by the time she was born and counting my water, tissues,...I was almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight. It took exactly 5 weeks for me to be back to around 156lbs.<br />
- Breast feeding definitely helps shed the pounds and if you can, I definitely recommend it :)<br />
- I started light exercising at 6 weeks after my doctor checkup. It was very slow at the begining. I mainly just walked around the neighbourhood and did light abs work on the exercise ball.<br />
- I enrolled in a mommy and baby boot camp at my local gym at 2 months post partum. It was a great experience for me and I noticed that my belly was flat after a short time. It also got me into the habit of exercising outside the house.<br />
- I also did Salsa Baby classes in which moms dance to latin beats while wearing baby in a soft carrier. It reminded me how much I enjoyed dancing and started dancing so on a daily basis at home.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/e6992086-d6f5-4e9a-bfe6-0fd1eacdd8fa_zps5ef23fd5.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="salsa baby photo e6992086-d6f5-4e9a-bfe6-0fd1eacdd8fa_zps5ef23fd5.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/e6992086-d6f5-4e9a-bfe6-0fd1eacdd8fa_zps5ef23fd5.jpg" /></a><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i>With Baby Sofia at Salsa Baby class - 4 months post partum</i></span><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">5 months and more after baby:</span><br />
<br />
- Started doing <b>fitness classes </b>5-6 times a week at my gym. The classes include Low/Core, step bootcamp, 20|20|20, Low Fusion, Sculpt and Tone, strength mix, Body Ball.... I'm enjoying them so much that I wake up looking forward to going to the gym. Fitness classes have definitely been key to my love for exercise and fitness for the first time in my life.<br />
- I'm doing <b>Zumba</b> once a week on top of the classes above. No cardio is as enjoyable as a dance cardio (at least for me).<br />
- A few months ago, I did <b>Tracy Anderson's Post Pregnancy DVD</b> for a month. I 100% recommend it to tighten your abs muscles.<br />
- I go for a brisk walk each afternoon with Sofia either in her stroller or worn in a soft baby carrier (we are loving the Ergo).<br />
- I eat as healthy as I can. I do NOT count calorie and doing do would really stress me out. I'm also still breastfeeding. I rarely eat out and cook everything at home from fresh ingredients. I avoid soda's, chocolate, ice cream, bagels,....<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Results:</span><br />
<br />
- I currently weigh 150lbs which is still 3-4 lbs above my ideal weight. But the difference is very obvious in my body muscles and how my clothes fit.<br />
- I have dropped to a size 6! I was wearing mostly size 10 before I got pregnant.<br />
- I actually starting to see a 4-pack :D<br />
- Eating well and exercising have now become part of my lifestyle and that is the best result. Getting here has been hard work but it is now actually work I enjoy so I would actually call it hobby :D<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/3f9f0f83-0972-4057-94aa-11d8cf9e7513_zps5baf7e0a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="fit photo 3f9f0f83-0972-4057-94aa-11d8cf9e7513_zps5baf7e0a.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/3f9f0f83-0972-4057-94aa-11d8cf9e7513_zps5baf7e0a.jpg" /></a><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i>yesterday pre-workout, now in a size 6 clothing :D</i></span><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">More tips:</span><br />
<br />
- If you had a baby, just accept that it took 9 months for your body shape to change and to gain all the weight needed to nurture your growing baby. Your bouncing back to original self would not be instantantenous. My instructor who is a mom herself told me to allow at least 8 months of consistent workout to reach at my fitness goal.<br />
- On the same note, do NOT jump into doing sit ups soon after having baby. Your abs muscles are still lose the early months post partum and sit-ups can result in muscle separation.<br />
- Switch up your workout. It's good to have a favourite activity, but I find it can get boring. That's why I like group fitness classes as there's always something new.<br />
- Don't make excuses like "I'm too tired" or "I don't have time". I used to make the exact same excuses before I was a mom and now I'm 10 times more tired and have a lot less time. But I made the choice to be fit and if you want to, you can always make time.<br />
- If you make eating healthy and consistent exercising part of your life style, you will never be too lazy for them.<br />
- Exercise in the am if possible. Postponing a workout will make it likely for you to skip it.<br />
<br />

What is your exercise routine? If you've had babies, how did you get back in shape?</h4>

<br />
Happy Victoria Day to my fellow Canadians! And everyone else hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I thought I compile a post with outfits I've worn out and about the past few weeks. Most of these have already been posted on <a href="http://inst.ag/u/shadowy_lady/" target="_blank">instagram</a>. I recently dropped a size down (now wear a size 6) which is exciting but also means I need new clothes....though that's not necessarily a bad thing ;)<br />
<br />
This is a bright coral shirt from the Gap I scored at their end of season sale in March. I'm slowly warming up to the idea of neons near my face. The skirt is from Bedo and the leopard print pumps are by Nine West:<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/76513247-5441-4c79-bacd-1a389cd85e35_zps03c02b65.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 76513247-5441-4c79-bacd-1a389cd85e35_zps03c02b65.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/76513247-5441-4c79-bacd-1a389cd85e35_zps03c02b65.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
This outfit was worn on the first actual warm day of the year here in Ottawa. I had just picked up the paisley print shorts from Joe Fresh. I never had got anything for myself from there but I often browse their baby section. It actually fist pretty well. White button down is by Calvin Klein and the flat leather sandals are Gap (worn to death, I should have picked more colours when these were released a few years ago):<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/5aae7136-b4a6-460e-9c9d-9bb92ca1c41f_zps23da46fd.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 5aae7136-b4a6-460e-9c9d-9bb92ca1c41f_zps23da46fd.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/5aae7136-b4a6-460e-9c9d-9bb92ca1c41f_zps23da46fd.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I love wearing short shorts as soon as the temperature rises. This pair of cream and brown stripy ones are by J.Crew and I wore them with a simple black tank (I think by Le Chateau) and the same Gap sandals. Of course I also wore Sofia in her Grey Galaxy Ergo :D<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/b96ee810-608e-4a81-86b8-80026100a650_zpsd3aa1e67.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo b96ee810-608e-4a81-86b8-80026100a650_zpsd3aa1e67.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/b96ee810-608e-4a81-86b8-80026100a650_zpsd3aa1e67.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Grey animal print tank from Simons and black interlock skirt by American Apparel. I have this skirt in 4 different colours; it's super comfy:<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/db021f6e-6f68-4a84-bee9-da19a2a12dce_zpsc0d7d14e.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo db021f6e-6f68-4a84-bee9-da19a2a12dce_zpsc0d7d14e.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/db021f6e-6f68-4a84-bee9-da19a2a12dce_zpsc0d7d14e.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Outfit worn for a day of shopping in the mall; something chic but comfortable. Navy maxi skirt by BCBG and white tank by J.Crew, a delicate layered necklace by Aldo and Oh.My.God the same leather Gap sandals!!!<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/aa3ed162-3bd1-4c6a-b33e-37b7ef487c60_zps65acfc23.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo aa3ed162-3bd1-4c6a-b33e-37b7ef487c60_zps65acfc23.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/aa3ed162-3bd1-4c6a-b33e-37b7ef487c60_zps65acfc23.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Lunch with coworkers outfit which consisted of a mint maxi dress from Forever21 (love love love it...this is the only shade they had left in my size), Aldo bib necklace and moto leather jacket by Danier Leather:<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/ae157d0a-ea28-475f-8c8c-fe3bb4faaefd_zps10179e5f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ae157d0a-ea28-475f-8c8c-fe3bb4faaefd_zps10179e5f.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/ae157d0a-ea28-475f-8c8c-fe3bb4faaefd_zps10179e5f.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
A more professional outfit worn to a meeting with my boss (I'm going back to work in 2 months). Red shift dress by Jacobs cinched at waist with a skinny leather black belt. Beige leather spring jacket by Danier Leather and the beige patent leather pumps are by Steve Madden. This is the type of outfit I wear on a daily basis when I'm at work:<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/ad9d1897-a23b-4415-b74d-9d379b1714b2_zps7511ed67.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ad9d1897-a23b-4415-b74d-9d379b1714b2_zps7511ed67.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/ad9d1897-a23b-4415-b74d-9d379b1714b2_zps7511ed67.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
This is me wearing one of my only two t-shirts! I'm not really a t girl and all that I do own were gifted to me. This one I like as it has tattoo design on it. T-shirt by Guess, mint shorts by J.Crew, bejewelled sandals also by Guess:<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/32a33607-e1a2-4718-9279-c88eda8b107c_zpsaff4a672.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 32a33607-e1a2-4718-9279-c88eda8b107c_zpsaff4a672.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/32a33607-e1a2-4718-9279-c88eda8b107c_zpsaff4a672.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Last but not least, today's outfit worn to the annual Ottawa Tulip Festival. Navy shirt by Forever21, neon yellow relaxed pants by the Gap and wedge sandals by Steve Madden:<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/332c7db9-5073-46fd-a873-f1b5923ee440_zpsb278af65.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 332c7db9-5073-46fd-a873-f1b5923ee440_zpsb278af65.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/332c7db9-5073-46fd-a873-f1b5923ee440_zpsb278af65.jpg" /></a><br />

Before I wrap up this post, what do you guys think of a getting fit after baby post? I worked hard at getting my body back and was thinking of sharing what has worked for me with you guys :)</h4>

<br />
This year I celebrated my first year as a mother. I don't know what great deed I have done to deserve such beautiful girl as my daughter. She has changed my life for better forever and makes me smile every single minute.<br />
<br />
We had a quiet mother's day at home and my hubby made it special by cooking a yummy brunch for me, my folks and youngest sister. I woke up in the morning to this:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/29eda8a3-3240-4071-9bd1-ed19bc17a5c0_zps1ec4de68.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 29eda8a3-3240-4071-9bd1-ed19bc17a5c0_zps1ec4de68.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/29eda8a3-3240-4071-9bd1-ed19bc17a5c0_zps1ec4de68.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The white roses were especially ordered by my mother in law who lives in the Caribbean. The card was "from" Sofia and had her hand print as her signature. My hubby's gift was a sterling silver pendant with mine, Sofia and his own birthstones (amethyst, topaz and green peridot). So thoughtful and beautiful at the same time.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/af1eb4ad-beab-4a3f-9da0-211dc0a823a0_zps8856c8e4.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="mommies photo af1eb4ad-beab-4a3f-9da0-211dc0a823a0_zps8856c8e4.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/af1eb4ad-beab-4a3f-9da0-211dc0a823a0_zps8856c8e4.jpg" /></a><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i>me and my beautiful mom</i></span><br />
<br />
For brunch we had leak and bacon quiche, salt fish and bake (caribbean touch) plus fruit salad and fresh scones from our favourite bakery. I much preferred this to going somewhere for brunch:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/33d26850-1e4c-4d16-9dbb-285d61f6d08b_zps0b525c25.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="food photo 33d26850-1e4c-4d16-9dbb-285d61f6d08b_zps0b525c25.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/33d26850-1e4c-4d16-9dbb-285d61f6d08b_zps0b525c25.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Sofia had some of our scone, pureed mangos, cheerios and bits of the quiche:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/06cab3de-945f-482c-9ef1-e7415a1dafc5_zps0f4a6afc.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt="Sofia photo 06cab3de-945f-482c-9ef1-e7415a1dafc5_zps0f4a6afc.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/06cab3de-945f-482c-9ef1-e7415a1dafc5_zps0f4a6afc.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
After we ate and enjoyed my mom's home made cake for dessert, we took some photos by our blossoming crab apple tree. The tree really only stays this beautiful for about a week, but it's worth it existing on our front lawn!!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/a340b891-fbc0-4004-97e6-c322a7d762cd_zps91e687c5.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo a340b891-fbc0-4004-97e6-c322a7d762cd_zps91e687c5.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/a340b891-fbc0-4004-97e6-c322a7d762cd_zps91e687c5.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<h4>
Hope you all had a great Mother's Day. How did you celebrate this special day?</h4>

<br />
I really appreciate the Back2MAC program. Since I don't buy as much makeup these days, I actually finish some products and get to pick up a few items at my local MAC store. None of the two items I opted for are new, but they've both been on my wishlist for quite sometimes:<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Patina Eyeshadow (frost)</span><br />
<br />
Boy, this one is a difficult colour for me to describe! It's a neutral light brown but has some gold cast to it. It works great as part of a neutral everyday look but can also be mixed with brights. I find the texture to be a bit stiff (it's a frost finish after all) but it is workable.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/f3de0a3d-f40a-4190-898d-ffd9952e8b5a_zps8fa74d74.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo f3de0a3d-f40a-4190-898d-ffd9952e8b5a_zps8fa74d74.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/f3de0a3d-f40a-4190-898d-ffd9952e8b5a_zps8fa74d74.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/c114a55d-f2da-4adf-9898-439a41ff8185_zps13ff9b5b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo c114a55d-f2da-4adf-9898-439a41ff8185_zps13ff9b5b.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/c114a55d-f2da-4adf-9898-439a41ff8185_zps13ff9b5b.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I don't seem to have a dupe for it either:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/bc1d14f3-95fc-43a8-872b-fc3911e18bb2_zps1774cbd0.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo bc1d14f3-95fc-43a8-872b-fc3911e18bb2_zps1774cbd0.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/bc1d14f3-95fc-43a8-872b-fc3911e18bb2_zps1774cbd0.jpg" /></a><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Left to right: UD Smog, MAC Tan Pigment, MAC Patina</i></span><br />
<br />
The swatch looks weak on my arm but it's actually much better on the eye. I tried it over gold (MAC Cashflow paint pot) and silver/taupe (MUFE #2 aqua cream pot) bases. I'm loving the dimensions the taupe base adds to Patina:<br />

<br />
Pro's:<br />
- goes with everything<br />
- multi dimensional base<br />
- I don't have a dupe for it<br />
<br />
Cons:<br />
- texture is a bit stiff<br />
<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Pink Plaid Lipstick (matte)</span><br />
<br />
I've been on a quest to add to my neutral lipstick collection and Pink Plaid seems to fit the bill just right. I'm a fan of my lips but better shades with pink undertones (over peachy ones) as my lips are quite pink naturally. Pink Plaid is opaque in one coat and can be a bit drying due to its matte texture. It's not as bad as some of MAC's worst offenders.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/bb668d87-dcfe-4574-ae43-c5938038a0db_zpscd7c5ca8.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo bb668d87-dcfe-4574-ae43-c5938038a0db_zpscd7c5ca8.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/bb668d87-dcfe-4574-ae43-c5938038a0db_zpscd7c5ca8.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
It reminds me much of my other two beloved neutral lipsticks, Nars Sex Machine and Catfight. But it's not a full on dupe.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/c13a74c1-88e6-4d89-8053-ff12691b32d3_zps12176b97.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo c13a74c1-88e6-4d89-8053-ff12691b32d3_zps12176b97.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/c13a74c1-88e6-4d89-8053-ff12691b32d3_zps12176b97.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Here are the comparison swatches. I don't know why I added MUFE #29, that one is certainly too brown:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/May%202013/b211f84e-fcb3-4117-be47-b0b4f5eccbb6_zps27aaed38.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo b211f84e-fcb3-4117-be47-b0b4f5eccbb6_zps27aaed38.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/May%202013/b211f84e-fcb3-4117-be47-b0b4f5eccbb6_zps27aaed38.jpg" /></a><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Left to right: MUFE #29, Nars Catfight, Nars Sex Machine, MAC Pink Plaid</i></span><br />
<br />
Pro's:<br />
- great my lips but better shade<br />
- pigmented<br />
- I always love MAC's vanilla scent<br />
<br />
Cons:<br />
- slightly dry<br />
<br />
Overall, I'm pretty happy with both my picks. I incorporated them into a look yesterday. I added Nars Cordura duo to the mix for the eyes and layered Pink Plaid with Chanel Argonite glossimer to give it some shine. I'm also wearing MAC Ladyblush cremeblend blush to warm up the cheeks but continue on the minimalistic face:<br />
<br />

<h4>
Hope you found this post helpful. Do you own any of these two products? What are some of your favourite neutral eye/lip products?</h4>

<br />
As a busty woman, I find some trends hard to pull off: plunging necklines, backless dressed, anything babydoll, side cleavage,....even simple things like well fitting a button down shirt is hard to find for someone who wears a 32F! One of the trends I really wanted to try is the peplum trend and I was determined to find one that would look good on me.<br />
<br />
Last weekend while browsing the Bay, I came across this number by I.N.C International Concepts and my search finally came to an end :)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/02f6e5ec-50d3-4b3f-8791-bbae2258bf44_zps1196c6d7.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 02f6e5ec-50d3-4b3f-8791-bbae2258bf44_zps1196c6d7.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/02f6e5ec-50d3-4b3f-8791-bbae2258bf44_zps1196c6d7.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I love that the peplum bit isn't too structured so it doesn't add anymore to my hips. The top itself is very flattering on anyone despite their bust size. I also love the skinny bow belt; it's so feminine and cute! I picked it up and wore it the next day to a family lunch party. You can't really see in in pic but I'm wearing a black interlock skirt by American Apparel as well as one of their fishnet style tights:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/fcd581cc-437b-4acb-be8f-47432ea5e317_zps73d7e036.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo fcd581cc-437b-4acb-be8f-47432ea5e317_zps73d7e036.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/fcd581cc-437b-4acb-be8f-47432ea5e317_zps73d7e036.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
This is another outfit post from yesterday. I always forget to take outfit pictures!! The lace white top is by Banana Republic, skirt is American Apparel (damn I do own too many of their skirts) and the over the knee camel boots are by Aldo. I threw a light leather jacket by Danier over it as it's still a bit chilly here. Also, not that you can really see them, but I'm also wearing drop blue earring by Expression brand from the Bay. They have awesome trendy jewellery and the price is right too:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/7a11d476-2f82-4a3e-a6c1-7494d1bb8d1a_zps73a5a2c0.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 7a11d476-2f82-4a3e-a6c1-7494d1bb8d1a_zps73a5a2c0.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/7a11d476-2f82-4a3e-a6c1-7494d1bb8d1a_zps73a5a2c0.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<h4>
So what do you think? Can I work the peplum? Is there a style of clothing you want to try but afraid won't look best on your body type?</h4>

<br />
My bebe is 8 months old now and it's so amazing to see how much she has changed. Though she's still technically a baby, her personality is really starting to show. She's always shy at first but then start giggling and babbling to strangers.<br />
<br />
Here's what my baby is up to these days:<br />
<br />
<b>Stat</b>: Hovering around the 20lbs mark, no idea how tall she is though. She's still in some 9-12 months clothing but most of her outfits are now 12month plus.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/40ce93a2-ac49-4396-b18b-740b3670b8d8_zpsecaf747a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 40ce93a2-ac49-4396-b18b-740b3670b8d8_zpsecaf747a.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/40ce93a2-ac49-4396-b18b-740b3670b8d8_zpsecaf747a.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Health:</b> no more colds thank God. She had a diaper rash two weeks ago but it went away in two days time. Seems that she's finally getting a tooth!!!! Her bottom gums are very hard and I "think" I can see a white spot under them.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/fd47bd26-c07a-498d-900a-c175308d5e4b_zps40817a4f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo fd47bd26-c07a-498d-900a-c175308d5e4b_zps40817a4f.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/fd47bd26-c07a-498d-900a-c175308d5e4b_zps40817a4f.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Eat</b> - Sofia is still breastfed during the day every 3 hours or so. She is also still enjoying her purees but we have started giving her some finger food and hoping to switch fully to baby led weaning. She's starting to really fight being fed anyway so the time is right. She has had pancakes, pasta, avocado bits, crackers,...even some herbed Persian stew which she adored much to my mom's delight :D<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/6b83929e-bfba-4e63-8753-284e3a99073b_zps9a8790a2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 6b83929e-bfba-4e63-8753-284e3a99073b_zps9a8790a2.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/6b83929e-bfba-4e63-8753-284e3a99073b_zps9a8790a2.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Sleep </b>- sleep through most nights from 7 pm to 7 am. Some nights she shuffles around 4-5 am but usually I don't have to get out of bed and she settles herself. She takes two naps a day from 1-1.5 hour each.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/46230ee6-963e-4bbc-ab0f-f47ed21f1d89_zps5f8a1904.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 46230ee6-963e-4bbc-ab0f-f47ed21f1d89_zps5f8a1904.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/46230ee6-963e-4bbc-ab0f-f47ed21f1d89_zps5f8a1904.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Milestones</b>: quite a few this month<br />
<br />
- crawls very fast now. Seems to enjoy getting to things she shouldn't get to (cables, statues, shoes....)<br />
- can stand unassisted for a few seconds<br />
- goes from crawling to sitting position and vice versa quickly<br />
- claps her hands on demand. She uses this motion to express her happiness<br />
- started finger food. Wants to feed herself and screams if we try to feed her<br />
- stil LOVES music, moves her arms up and down when she hears a song or when I sing to her<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/58679ff9-b5fc-40fa-9517-c96827e484ea_zps6b40c3a1.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 58679ff9-b5fc-40fa-9517-c96827e484ea_zps6b40c3a1.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/58679ff9-b5fc-40fa-9517-c96827e484ea_zps6b40c3a1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>How I'm doing:</b><br />
<br />
- unfortunately still struggling with post partum insomnia. I'm going to see my doctor this week to switch to a lower dose medication.<br />
- Besides that health is great! Still working out 4-5 times a week one of which is my Zumba class. I'm loving Zumba, not sure why I never took classes before. It's so me!!<br />
- still breastfeeding full time but planing on slowly weaning her starting 9 months as I'm due back at work in August. Any tips on this moms?<br />
- feeling nostalgic about having to go back to work in 3 months time. It has to be done but I will miss hanging out with my baby everyday.<br />

<br />
Happy Sunday guys! It's rare for hubby and I to have a date night now as munchkin is asleep by 7 pm. So my of dates are daytime activities. Last week we had my sister babysit though and we went out for dinner, just the two of us.<br />
<br />
I took the opportunity to glam it up of course. This look was created on the fly though. At first I wanted to do a brown smokey eyes hence the brown base. Then I decided to do some teal to go with my nails, Chanel Azure (see post <a href="http://shadowylady.blogspot.ca/2013/04/chanel-summer-2013-azure-nail-polish.html" target="_blank">here</a>). Finally I settled on a lined cat eyes with teal as the main colour. I quite liked how it turned out :)<br />
<br />

I did a sock bun to go with the glam look. I usually wear my hair down or half up when it's still chilly out so this was new for me. I also wore my beloved <b>leather top dress by DKNY</b>. I adore this dress as it fits like a glove and it's so comfortable. It's so me, fitted, black and curve hugging:</div>

<br />
Blogging is going great this week; 4th post in a row :D This look is from last weekend though. I had just got my hair dyed a lighter shade of warm brown and have also cut it to shoulder length. If you've followed me for a while you probably noticed that my hair is usually dyed a dark shade of brown or mahogany. I'm much more comfortable with darker hair but I was also bored so I welcomed this change. How do you guys like the new hair?<br />
<br />
I did a super colourful 'POW' in your face look to go with my new hair. Nowadays my makeup is usually quite simple but I like to switch it off once a week or so. I wanted to wear <b>MAC Ablaze lipstick</b> which for some reason looks more coraly pink on me than true coral, damn it! All corals do this to me!!!<br />
<br />

<br />
Hi guys! Leave it to Chanel to release at least one amazing nail polish per year to lure me back into their camp. Just after I sworn off buying Chanel products in Canada (we pay waaaaay too much for them here), I pass by their counter yesterday and see the summer 2013 collection.<br />
<br />
I was immediately drawn to <b>Azure nail polish</b>:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/e3988155-bc29-49e9-94b9-20ef458dd167_zps3be169ad.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo e3988155-bc29-49e9-94b9-20ef458dd167_zps3be169ad.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/e3988155-bc29-49e9-94b9-20ef458dd167_zps3be169ad.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Azure is a gorgeous metallic teal and is a limited edition shade released by Chanel Gods this summer. My Chanel counter at the Bay just got these in yesterday so if you like the shade, hurry and pick it up now before it's gone. I mean look at this!!!! And today is cloudy so I couldn't capture its true beauty:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/481084e5-1a1e-46bf-a978-c184507f3746_zps05bdf9a9.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 481084e5-1a1e-46bf-a978-c184507f3746_zps05bdf9a9.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/481084e5-1a1e-46bf-a978-c184507f3746_zps05bdf9a9.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I applied two thin coats and unlike other metallic shades I've tried in the past, this one doesn't leave any brush strokes behind; huge plus in my opinion. The colour itself reminds me a bit of OPI Teal the Cows Come Home but more complex due to its glow.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/d1567ad7-e7f4-4817-8072-5b84eac4e203_zpsb969d8d6.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo d1567ad7-e7f4-4817-8072-5b84eac4e203_zpsb969d8d6.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/d1567ad7-e7f4-4817-8072-5b84eac4e203_zpsb969d8d6.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I only own 7 Chanel nail polishes but they all 7 have great formula. Azure is no exception; the brush is the perfect width and the formula doesn't bubble. It's splurge worthy ($27CAD) in my book :D<br />
<br />
<br />
<h4>
Will you be picking up Azure? What are some of your favourite Chanel nail polishes?</h4>

<br />
Hi guys! This is a long overdue look using my latest obsession, <b>Sephora Blueberry Muffin eyeshadow</b>. I'm quite impressed with the pigmentation of this matte darkened plum shade. It's ideal for a smokey purple look which is my favourite kind of smokey eye. I think I will get my paws on more of the new Sephora eyeshadows. I'm specially on the hunt for more matte and dark shades like this one.<br />
<br />
Here's the look:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/f13da005-a176-427f-9ec7-1d456ebd665e_zps8b45c4cf.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo f13da005-a176-427f-9ec7-1d456ebd665e_zps8b45c4cf.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/f13da005-a176-427f-9ec7-1d456ebd665e_zps8b45c4cf.jpg" /></a><br />

<b>For Eyes</b>: Applied <i>UDPP</i> as base all over and <i>Lise Watier Smokey Black kohl</i> as base for lids only. I blended the LW kohl using the black side of <i>Nars Pandora duo</i> and blended upward. I then added <i>Sephora Blueberry Muffin e/s </i>in the crease and blended into a cat liner outward. <br />
I'm not really the best at nail design. In fact I think I kinda suck at it. But every once in a while I feel like trying my hands at it again. I did a neon and neutral polka dot mani this past weekend that turned out ok. Here's a picture:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/f674b226-26b1-4a0a-830b-635a2f488838_zps0f4d6e54.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo f674b226-26b1-4a0a-830b-635a2f488838_zps0f4d6e54.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/f674b226-26b1-4a0a-830b-635a2f488838_zps0f4d6e54.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
And this is what I used:<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/76739762-5388-46b0-a6d8-814b7d53c91a_zps9a35ce2b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 76739762-5388-46b0-a6d8-814b7d53c91a_zps9a35ce2b.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/76739762-5388-46b0-a6d8-814b7d53c91a_zps9a35ce2b.jpg" /></a><br />
<i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">Essie Haute as Hello, Essie Sand Tropez, OPI top coat and a dotting tool from Sally's.</span></i><br />
<br />
I first applied 2 medium layers of Essie Haute as Hello and waited for it to dry. Then used the dotting tool to do the polka dots with Essie Sand Tropez. If you want them to look symmetric and even, first do three vertical dots in the middle of the nail bed and then two dots on each side. I also found it was easier to put a drop of my dotting shade on a plastic surface and then dip the dotting tool. I finished with a coat of OPI top coat. It's rare for me to do topcoat as I change my polish every day. But when I spend the extra effort and do some design, I keep my mani for a bit longer ;)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/e64d9460-0d28-4978-a53b-bda80f61f15e_zpsaea42708.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo e64d9460-0d28-4978-a53b-bda80f61f15e_zpsaea42708.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/e64d9460-0d28-4978-a53b-bda80f61f15e_zpsaea42708.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I think I will do this again next time with more contrasting colours. This one here is more subtle and I wanted it this way as I was afraid it won't come out great.<br />
<br />

<br />
Hi guys! As a mom to a 7 months old, my makeup routine has become very simplified. I still have some makeup on most of the time but rarely ever do I get to spend the time and blend colourful shades on my eyes.<br />
<br />
On this welcome occasion, Sofia took her nap at the perfect time for me to do my makeup :D So I took the opportunity to create a happy and colouful look. I forgot to take product pictures but here's the rundown:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<b>For Face</b>: Used <i>Marcelle BB Cream (shade Light to Medium)</i> as my primer and <i>Lancome Teint Miracle (shade Buff 4C) </i>mixed with<i> Nars Copacabana Illuminator</i> as my foundation. I then applied <i>Nars Desire blush</i> very lightly on the apple of my cheeks.</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<b>For Eyes:</b> Used MAC<i> Painterly Pain Paint pot </i>as base<i>. </i>Then I applied<i> Cosmic e/s (Jasmine palette)</i> on inner lid, <i>Arabian Sunset (Jasmine Palette)</i> on mid lid, <i>MAC Bright</i> <i>Fuchsia pigment (Pro)</i> next to it and <i>Master e/s (Jasmine Palette)</i> on the outer lid. I added Mystical <i>Wonder e/s</i> in outer crease and <i>Rajah e/s</i> in inner crease. I used <i>Ali Abawa e/s</i> as my browbone highlighter. I lined the bottom lashline with Rajah<i> e/s</i> and <i>Master e/s</i> the top lashline with <i>MAC Dark Division fluidline (LE - burgundy) </i>and finished with two coats of the <i>L'Oreal </i>mascara<i>.</i></div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">

</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<b>For lips:</b> I applied <i>MAC Silly lipstick (LE - cool medium pink)</i> straight from the tube. I find this shade a tad dry but still love it!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">

<br />
Hi lovelies! We're almost halfway through April and it's still friggin' cold here in Ottawa. I'm really itching to bust out my spring outfits but can't do just yet! At least I delighted myself in purchasing a few soft nail polishes and started painting my nails in happy colours already!<br />
<br />
Here's my four pretties from left to right: <b>Essie Bikini so Teeny, Essie Madison Ave-hue, China Glaze Keep Calm Paint on and China Glaze Mimosa's Before Mani's:</b><br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/365d407a-9613-4661-9a73-1c6566e95dae_zps028c8ede.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 365d407a-9613-4661-9a73-1c6566e95dae_zps028c8ede.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/365d407a-9613-4661-9a73-1c6566e95dae_zps028c8ede.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Essie Maddison Ave-hue</b> was the first one I tried. This is a beautiful barbie pink with subtle shimmer. I thought for sure I would have a dupe for this but none could be found. The formula on this was amazing!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/8416cfc6-361c-4bc4-a868-88c163c3a4b9_zps095d1461.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 8416cfc6-361c-4bc4-a868-88c163c3a4b9_zps095d1461.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/8416cfc6-361c-4bc4-a868-88c163c3a4b9_zps095d1461.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>Essie Bikini So Teeny</b> was released last year but I believe it's permanent to the Essie range now. It's a very light blue almost leaning periwinkle with subtle silver shimmer. The formula was good but I had some bubbling on the nail as you can see:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/24645ba8-1c1f-4f5a-b9d4-34f76f34c35d_zps544b4c84.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 24645ba8-1c1f-4f5a-b9d4-34f76f34c35d_zps544b4c84.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/24645ba8-1c1f-4f5a-b9d4-34f76f34c35d_zps544b4c84.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint on</b> is a soft aqua shade. I have a few shades similar to this but no dead on dupe. Essie Mint Candy Apple is more pastel, China Glaze for Audrey is more blue. Application was a breeze and drying time quicker than most China Glaze polishes I own:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/7e17bb3f-61a5-4def-9adf-02a8acaf258c_zps13060d64.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 7e17bb3f-61a5-4def-9adf-02a8acaf258c_zps13060d64.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/7e17bb3f-61a5-4def-9adf-02a8acaf258c_zps13060d64.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<b>China Glaze Mimosa's Before Mani's</b> is a gorgeous shade of peachy coral. It has enough pink to it to prevent giving me lobster hands though. Those of you guys with pink/red undertones probably know what I mean. This one is a lighter, more spring-y version of ChG Pink Plumeria:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/54c9ac02-8ec0-4961-9c87-252646d2c1b8_zps2baeaacc.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 54c9ac02-8ec0-4961-9c87-252646d2c1b8_zps2baeaacc.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/54c9ac02-8ec0-4961-9c87-252646d2c1b8_zps2baeaacc.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I absolutely love all four polishes. If I had to pick a fvourite though, it would be Madison Ave-hue...which is strange as one would think pinks are common enough not to be my top choice.<br />
<br />
<h4>
Have you purchased any new spring nail polishes? What are some of your favourite seasonal nail polishes?</h4>

<br />
Hi guys! I was in the mall yesterday and decided to treat myself to a few new lipsticks. I may have a drawer full of them but lipsticks are an inexpensive way to make this mama happy. Here's the total damage:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/f068cff2-f648-4a9f-9554-686cc21ec137_zps3e382e41.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo f068cff2-f648-4a9f-9554-686cc21ec137_zps3e382e41.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/f068cff2-f648-4a9f-9554-686cc21ec137_zps3e382e41.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
First I swung by my local MAC store and saw that they had the fashion set lipsticks out. I know everyone was going nuts for Heroin but I'm not too much of a purple lips person. I opted for <b>Silly</b> and <b>Ablaze</b> lipsticks.<br />
<br />
Here's <b>Silly lipstick</b>; a gorgeous cool toned medium pink:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/a2fdd453-83d1-484b-a45d-7c6112476cb7_zpsb7e098a3.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo a2fdd453-83d1-484b-a45d-7c6112476cb7_zpsb7e098a3.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/a2fdd453-83d1-484b-a45d-7c6112476cb7_zpsb7e098a3.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I thought Silly which has a matte texture would be similar to Pink Nouveau but ended up being a touch cooler. Chanel Super is totally different texture but closer in colour. I love shades like this and believe that cool pink look gorgeous with smokey eyes or no eye makeup at all.<br />
<br />
Here are some comparisons:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/b31295cf-a82c-4986-a3bb-5ed4e1acb673_zps4f1dbccf.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo b31295cf-a82c-4986-a3bb-5ed4e1acb673_zps4f1dbccf.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/b31295cf-a82c-4986-a3bb-5ed4e1acb673_zps4f1dbccf.jpg" /></a><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Left to right: Chanel Super, MAC Pink Nouveau, MAC Silly</i></span><br />
<br />
And me wearing Silly with very subtle eye makeup:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/ec91c0a2-3140-4ef4-a938-c61fc0905e9c_zps4a970ddd.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ec91c0a2-3140-4ef4-a938-c61fc0905e9c_zps4a970ddd.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/ec91c0a2-3140-4ef4-a938-c61fc0905e9c_zps4a970ddd.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Here's <b>Ablaze lipstick</b>; a beautiful matte red coral:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/a1448262-4169-441c-b89a-999f36415d98_zpsc139bc84.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo a1448262-4169-441c-b89a-999f36415d98_zpsc139bc84.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/a1448262-4169-441c-b89a-999f36415d98_zpsc139bc84.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I think Ablaze is a universally flattering coral. It's not as neon as MAC Toxic Tale (LE) or as pink as Chanel Genial RA (LE). It has a slight sheen to it so you should be ok if mattes generally terrify you or you find them too harsh.<br />
<br />
Some comparisons for you guys:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/c7fbb58e-6aa3-4319-9b51-8b8aeb275f57_zps5a9646c4.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo c7fbb58e-6aa3-4319-9b51-8b8aeb275f57_zps5a9646c4.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/c7fbb58e-6aa3-4319-9b51-8b8aeb275f57_zps5a9646c4.jpg" /></a><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Left to right: Chanel Genial RA, MAC Toxic Tale, MAC Ablaze</i></span><br />
<br />
And me wearing Ablaze with the same makeup as above. I'm not wearing a lip liner:<br />

<br />
I left MAC to check out the new <b>Nars Satin Lip Pencils</b> at my Nars counter inside the Bay. I've been counting days to the arrival of these babies. You guys know Nars is my favourite brand and any launch of theirs always has my interest. Of course I was doubly excited coz I looooove their lip pencils.<br />
<br />
I swatched and swatched and left with <b>Luxembourg</b>...well for now. I'm already a fan of this new product. It applies smoothly and is not drying. I actually tried <i>every.single.shade</i> available and there was not a fluke in the bunch. All are saturated shades even on my very red pigmented lips. I opted for Luxemburg as pinky reds are the best shades to brighten my complexion. I think this one is a safe bet for all complexions.<br />
<br />
Here's<b> Luxembourg Satin Lip Pencil</b>; most sophisticated berry:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/ccb5d84b-3e48-4638-a378-395c61b933c2_zps21264f7c.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo ccb5d84b-3e48-4638-a378-395c61b933c2_zps21264f7c.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/ccb5d84b-3e48-4638-a378-395c61b933c2_zps21264f7c.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
And some comparisons with lip products I though might compare. Chanel Palpitante RA is more red and Chanel Cambon is warmer. Luxembourg also has a much shiny appearance and is easier to wear without a lip pencil:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s285.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_lover123-2008/media/April/3243a238-be2d-43c5-854a-dbb43160af5d_zpsff6ab52f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo 3243a238-be2d-43c5-854a-dbb43160af5d_zpsff6ab52f.jpg" border="0" src="http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/Shadow_lover123-2008/April/3243a238-be2d-43c5-854a-dbb43160af5d_zpsff6ab52f.jpg" /></a><br />

<br />
here's a shot of me wearing Luxemburg. My hubby loves this one on me:<br />
<br />

<br />
So I left the mall happy and giddy. Nothing like a couple of lipsticks to make my day. Did you guys purchase any new lip products lately?<br />
