I thought I do a review of one of my favourite Canadian brands, Marcelle. I have been using Marcelle and their sister company, Annabelle products since high school and I definitely think that their products are getting consistently better.

I had never tried out anything from Marcelle's skincare line but they generously sent me some products to try out and I must say I'm hooked. I received Essential Ante-wrinkle cream, Hydra-C 24H Hydrating Fluid and Gentle Makeup Remover For Sensitive Eyes. I've been using these products for three weeks now s I think it's a fair bit of usage so I can do my review.

Hydra-C 24H Hydrating Fluid
This is a super light daytime cream. It has sort of a gel consistency and hence applies evenly and has a cooling affect on the skin as it settles in. It also gets absorbed in my skin quickly so I don't have to wait forever to get my makeup done. I use this moisturizer first thing in the morning before I put on my concealer and foundation and my skin stays moisturized until the evening when I take my face off, lol! This lotion is enriched with vitamins E and C and I find it really soothes my winter dry skin. I also like that the bottle has a pump, I'm not big on dipping my finger in a jar to get my moisturizer out.

Essential Ante-wrinkle cream
I always thought you wouldn't need ante-creams until you're at least 35. My mom who's an esthetician is the one who hooked me into using the night creams telling me to have goo skin you need to start taking care of it early. I recently converted to Marcelle's Essential ante-wriknle cream as it offers all the benefits of more pricey brands and the price is right! This spedific products is ideal for ppl of age 22-35 (I'm guessing majority of you reading this are). It's a very rich unscented cream that I apply at night right before bed to fight the signs of aging. This product is essential for me as I talk with too much facial expression and I can already see some tiny wrinkle around my eyes. This cream can be used by anyskin type; oily, combination (mine) or dry. I've ben using this cream at night with Hydra-C moisturizer in the morning and my skin has never felt smoother. I also have super sensitive skin that has not reacted to either one of these products. I'm defintely hooked!

Gentle Makeup Remover For Sensitive Eyes
I've been a long timer user of Lancome Bi-Facil but since discovering Marcelle's makeup remover, I'm not even sure why I ever used the Lancome one. The Marcelle version is an excellent dupe and much easier on my wallet. This makeup remover is ideal for ppl with sensitive eyes or contact wearers like me. I just give the bottle a good shake, dab a little solution on a cotton pad and it takes all my eye makeup right off (water-proof mascara included). You don't need to rub too hard or anything. The solution does all the work. The only drawback I would say that my skin feel a little oily after using this product. But I use a gentle cleanser to wash up my foundation after so no complains there. I also like the soothing affect the green tea extract found in this makeup remover has on my eyes. Two thumbs up!

In summary, I liked all three products. I will definitely re-purchase them when I finish mine.

Have you guys used any Marcelle products before? Any thoughts? Also, if you have used them, do you have recommendation on other producst I might like?

I did warmer colour all around today as I really wanted to wear my Fresh Salmon lipstick. This is honestly the first coral lipstick I really like on me. I have a feeling it will suite many different skintones so do check it out when MAC's Spring Colour Forecast is released.

Hope you all survived another Monday :)

It seems like tomorrow is going to be a day that I'll be so busy at work that I won't even get to eat my lunch! I am due at 5 different sites back to back from 8:30 to 5:30 so I'm gonna take it super slow tonight and maybe watch some Dexter re-runs.

This is Jade is the New Black from OPI's new collection, Hong Kong. This is a very different green from the ones in my stash. I would say it has some blue undertone to it but it's not exactly teal. It's a gorgeous colour none the less. Application was a breeze and I could have gotten away with one coat but I did two.

I don't usually do clothing hauls on my blog; I keep it strictly beauty related, but ShiningSttar wanted to see the damage I made to my wallet last Friday (birthday haul) so I thought I'd make this post. So this post is dedicated to you Tahnee! :)

haul1
I got the tank on the left from sales at Jacobs for $9.99. The corset on the right is also on sale from LeChateau for $39.99. I have a "thing" for corsets. I find they emphasize my figure in a good way. I also love anything with lace, so this was the perfect purchase.

skirts
These two skirts were both from the Jacobs sale as well and came to $50 all together. I loooove mini skirts; summer is always so short so I make sure I maximize the time I wear my minis. I'll prob start wearing this mini in March (with leggings). The pink one I bought coz I love the colour.

shoes
I'm a strictly "high heel" kinda girl despite my height (I'm 5'7"). The only time I wear anything but high heel is when I go to the gym or I do site visits (for which I have to wear steel toed shoes). I've decided this year that I finally wanna wear more fats. I got these at a store called Joneve. They sell mid range shoes like Nine West, Steve Madden for slightly cheaper price. They had a mega sale so I got these for $80 all in! The pair on the right has kitten heels and the other one is completely flat!

polishes
Finally I picked up Jade Is the New Black and Suzi Says Feng Shui from OPI's Hong Kong collection and a top coat from Trade Secret. I also got BB's Ivy Shimmer gel liner from Holt Renfrew. I love this shade and you'll probably see tones of FOTD's with it soon. I went to Holt to see BB's new coral collection but they didn't have it in yet :(

What was the last thing you guys bought? Do you also enjoy bargain shopping a little too much? ;)

I had an amazing time at the spa with my girls but I got back home totally sleepy and passed out on the couch. Next thing I knew hubby was waking me up coz it was 5:30 and the guests were due at around 6! So I sprang out and tried to get ready as fast as I could. The makeup was VERY rushed so I just went with smokey purples as it is my go-to night look. It's not the best smokey look I've done but I thought I shared anyway.

Here's the look. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend :)

February 7, 2010

So I just woke up sorta hangover from my party last night. It doesn't seem like I will be getting out of the house at all today so I decided to catch up with the blog.

I meant to post this NOTD last week and kept forgetting. This is Essie's Lilacism that is part of their Art of Spring collection. It's one of the most beautiful lavender colour polishes I've ever seen. I actually got stopped by random ppl in the mall asking me what nail polish I was wearing. It actually looks more blue than it is IRL. It's just one of those polishes you have to see in person. This is two coats:

This is the look I wore to work today. I didn't go all out as even though it was my special day, it's still work, lol! I left early and went to the mall and treated myself to 2 skirts, 3 shirts, 2 pairs of shoes and some polishes from OPI's Hong Kong Collection. I also picked up some food as my parents were coming for dinner.

I'm just winding down now and will get to rest soon so I prepare for my spa date with my girlfriends tomorrow. Hope you all have a wonderful Friday night. Here's my look:
