I decided I update my blog with my makeup collection. I'm going to break this down into 3 parts. Part 1 will be what I use on my face. Part 2 (going up tomorrow) is going to be all my eye products and Part 3 going up this weekend is going to be my lip products and anything left (brushes, mix). I just wanted to tell anyone who's reading this that I didn't accumulate all this over night. I've been collecting MAC for 6 years now though only the last 2 years my collection blew out of proportion, lol! I've started to appreciate other brands recently though and my love for makeup has extended past the boundary of just MAC.

So here we go. If you have any questions about any of the products, please let me know.

First off, below is a pic of my foundation/powder stuff.

Left to right: MSFN in Medium Plus, Studio Sculpt Concealer NC30, Cover FX Primer, Studio Fix in NW30, Smashbox HD Foundation in M1, Studio Sculpt Foundation in NW25

Then we have the blush pans (in a palette) and the beauty powder blushes. I'm very scared of depotting my beauty powder blushes as I've heard of them cracking under heat :(

This look was supposed to revolve around Swelter slimshine which was released with the Cool Heat collection last summer. I have repeatedly mentioned that Cool Heat is my fave MAC collection ever released. I even liked the slimshines though I don't usually like them. The slimshines released with Cool Heat were very pigmented. My favourite was Swelter which is a sheer yellow red. I mostly prefer blue reds (like Ruby Woo); but this one is amazing for the summer.

P.S. it's raining again today :(

I'm very happy that I ended up buying a full jar of Clear Sky Blue. Honestly I can see myself using this at least once a week. I would say it's a must for pastel and/or blue lovers (I'm both). Though this pigment is matte it still applies very well and I didn't have any problems with blending. Since I take pictures in my car, the lighting is never consistent. For example today was too bright for a close up picture.

My work is a little bit slow these last two weeks. The nature of my job is that one week is so crazy busy that I don't have time to eat lunch, then next week is super slow :/ I haven't slept much last night so hopefully I will survive the slowness today, lol!

Another polish I keep forgetting to photograph. I've actually been wearing this since Sunday hence the little bit of tip wear. Orly's Cashmere Cardigan was released this past spring and is a blue toned purple. I have tones of blues and purples but nothing that looks quite like this one. I would say it's probably very unique in the world on nail polishes. It applies well, looks very chic on and is totally opaque in two coats. Orly is another brand I'm always impressed with. The quality is as good as OPI IMO.

This is two coats, in the sun light.

As I mentioned in my earlier post today, I managed to go to the Pro Store in Toronto during my short stay in the city. I was only gonna buy one item but saw some other pretty things and couldn't help it! Also, I bought a full size jar of Smoke Signal pigment off of someone on the internet and I received it today. I've been looking for this LE pigment forever and I got it at an excellent price so obviousely I'm excited.

Here's a picture of my Pro haul plus my beloved Smoke Signal:

Top row: Show Orchid l/s, Clear Sky Blue p/m, Micro-Pink Loose bp
Bottom Row: Smoke Signal p/m

I got Show Orchid coz I love bright pink lipsticks. I already have plenty but I had wanted this one forever so I finally gave in. Here's a comparison swatch in case you're interested. Show Orchid is the most blue based pink lipstick I have and is very flattering on.

Clear Sky Blue is a gorgeous matte pigment. It goes on smooth and is super pigmented. I looked for a dupe of this colour all over the place and couldn't find one. I ended up getting a full jar as this colour is being DC'd from MAC Pro. If you love blues, this is a must have. I tried the Pro eyeshadow colour Sky Blue but that one was quite chalky; Clear Sky Blue is love.

My last pro purchase was a loose beauty powder. I've got two loose beauty powders from the Of Beauty Release in 2007 and their texture is amazing. I much prefer the loose beauty powders over the MSF. To be honest I never understood the hype surrounding MSF's. Here's a comparison of my new bp, Micro-Pink and my other pink highlighting products:

bp
From left to right: Pink Opal p/m (Perm), Petticoat MSF, Micro-Pink Loose bp (Pro) and Pearl Blossom (LE - Barbie Loves MAC)

Last but not least, my beloved Smoke Signal. While I was looking for similar colours for my swatch, I realized that I actually have a few burgundy type shades in my collection. Their all beautful in their own unique way. I can imagine they'll all look gorgeous over Artifact paint pot. But I love Smoke Signal coz it's matte.

Hope this helps someone. I need to lay off makeup buying for a while, lol!

The lovely xinarox made a post with 10 random facts about herself and tagged everyone reading the post. So I decided to do it for the heck of it.

1. I'm the only non politically correct Canadian person I've ever met. I tend to speak my mind, I'm not rude or anything, but I don't change my position to please ppl. It seems to annoy some folks but some others love me for it, lol!

2. I have a weird obsession with Herge and the Tintin series. Don't laugh, it's the francophone kid inside of me. I read all the series as a kid in French and have many of the original albums. I still read them when I'm down, they make me laugh even after so many years. I now have some of the albums in English, but the French ones are soooo much better. Nothing beats the original stuff.

3. I'm really scared of birds. The thought of one being even remotedly close to me scares the hell out of me. My fear is so bad that I can't even hold a plastic bird in my hands. It's really weird, but I just don't like them. They have beady eyes and a beak, plus they can jump on your hair. That makes them scary :/

4. I'm a full blooded Persian girl. I'm very protective of my heritage and my homeland. I spend a long time trying to educate misinformed ppl about it. I find it very sad that people don't know much about the origin of the Persians and our contribution to history of mankind (modern medicine, discovery of industrial alcohol, Algebra to name a few). I get super annoyed when ppl think we wear burkas, are religious fanatics (far from it) or Iran country is made of sand only (ummm, Iran not equal Saudi Arabia). I love Canada and proud to be a Canadian as well, but the Persian history is very fascinating and we've been around as long as the Egyptians have.

5. On that topic, I get mistaked for every ethnicity out there but Persian, lol! I've been mistaken for Lebanese, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Israleli, even random things like Columbian and Argentinian. The list goes on, pretty much any ethnicity under the sun besides black or Asian! I find the guessing game quite funny.

6. I have a semi fear of height. I say "semi" because I love hiking and have done it many times. On the other hand, I'm extremely scared of going down the stairs. I also don't like balconis and avoid them. I used to scream on top of my lungs as a kid when my cousins would bend on a balcony to look down (mostly to bug me). To this day I still go downstair reaaaaally slowly, I take elevators when the option is there.

7. I'm super friendly and warm up very easily to pretty much everyone I meet. Because of this I have many aquintances. I do not get very close to ppl easily though and maintain a distance. There are only 3 ppl I consider close friends.

8. On the same personality facts, I'm also not very romantic or sentimental. I'm not good at treasuring gifts/cards. I feel like I'm even less romantic than most guys I meet, my husband included, lol! I was super shocked when he proposed to me on our third anniversary, I thought it was too early, haha! I let him recount the story when ppl ask. I cannot stand it when ppl go "awwww". That drives me up the walls!

9. I'm not a very sporty person but I heart soccer. Not playing just watching it. I started watching soccer games with my uncles when I was about 6. I love the Italian Serie A and for national teams I cheer fhor Italy, Argentina and Holland. I'm sad that not most ppl care about soccer in North America :(

10. I'm very liberal and the furthest away from being religious possible. I'm all about facts and proofs, I did engineering you know :) I tend to stay away from political and religieous topics as I know some ppl can be offended, luckily doesn't happen too often here in Ottawa. Most of ppl I know have very similar point of views to myself.

Ok, now that I'm done, I'm gonna go ahead and tag the following ppl. Do it guys!

Shayla
Beda
Kathleen
Vicky
Polish Pixie

Looking forward to reading everyones random facts!

I'm back in Ottawa and work. This weekend really flashed by very quick. I had a great time in Toronto. Saw lots friends and family and even had a chance to hit up MAC Pro! I will post a picture of my small haul hopefully tomorrow. This is a quick look I did while in TO and the day I went to MAC Pro. It was a "very" quick look. Like I've said before I wear green/teal/blue combos so often I literally can do the whole look under 5 minutes.

Oh, and when I was in MAC Pro, I got a sample of Studio Sculpt in NW30 and NW35 as the NW25 I have from winter is now too light on me. Guess what? I wore the NW30 today and it's too dark! I don't know what to do now! I have to prob mix it with the NW25. I didn't bother trying the NW35 at all since the NW30 was too dark. Kinda stuck now!
