Hey lovelies! Though I have nothing against all out bright makeup and sport the look myself once in a while, I prefer neutral shades on my eyes with lipsticks as bright as MAC Impassioned.
Impassioned is one of those shades that just gets you noticed. No matter how many times I wear this lipstick (and I've been for nearly 3 years), I always get comments on it. I wore this shade to the office with various taupes shades on the eyes yesterday.
Hope you like :)

Hey guys! I'm a little hagover today due to long hours of partying last night but thought I make at least one weekend blog post. This one is my newest favourite nail polish Zoya Crystal. I picked two of the Fire and Ice polishes and Crystal was the first one that caught my eyes. Crystal is a light blue with gold shimmer. The shimmer is fine and pretty evenly distributed. I find the polish almost looks teal/gold in some light settings. Either way a GORGEOUS colour!
I did two layers for this NOTD. Application was a breeze!

I picked up Zoya Kotori about two months ago and just last remembered to wear it! It's a gorgeous shimmery deep blue violet. It's actually a very hard colour to photograph and describe but it's stunning in person. It's one of those shades I can see looking great on everyone. This polish is on the thinner side though so you will need three coats at least. Excuse a bit of tip wear as I only too pictures on the third day of wearing this:

Lapis of Luxury is part of Essie's spring/summer collection. It's a gorgeous dusty blue shade in a cream finish. This nail polish was the perfect compliment to yesterday's FOTD including Winkle e/s (see my FOTD in the post below). I had no application issue with this one. I was able to get a nice opaque finish in 2 coats and hubby loves this shade on me (bonus, hehe).

I did this nail "design" last night and I thought I share it with you guys. I love my glittery nail polishes but I don't wear them as often as I'd like just coz the glitters are so hard to remove. But I just felt like having glittery nails this weekend.
I started by applying two layers of Misa's A Sin Worth Committing which is a navy blue and let it air dry. Then did three coats of China Glaze Atlantis, a deep teal glitter. The first layer covers the top 2/3 of the nail, the second layer the top half and the third layer is pretty much near the tip. I then put a layer of OPI top coat on everything.
Here's a picture with no flash so you see the colours better:
This one is with flash but you can see the glitters better:

I love this nail polish! I honestly am not a fan of MAC nail polishes though I do have a soft spot for MAC in general. But this dusty blue with hints of green polish applied beautifully. It was streak free and I had at opaque in one coat but I did two just in case. I also love how unique this colour is. I don't have a dupe in my not so small polish stash (150 bottles). I suggest everyone to check this out at your counter. Mine sold out of Blue India the first day!

Suzi Says Fen Shui is the second polish I got from OPI's Hong Kong collection. It's a beautiful dusty blue. I find it interesting that it's a bright colour yet its' definitely dusty as well. I don't have any blue like this in my stash and I have many many blues. The application was a breeze, I could have gotten away with one coat even but I did two.
If you buy two things only from Hong Kong collection, make it Suzi Says Feng Shui and Jade is the New Black. In other words, copy my haul ;)

gaaaaah, this nail polish is soooo gorgeous, I want to lick my nails! I thought Mad as a Hatter was hot but Absolutely Alice is even better. I don't think I've ever seen a better blue glitter polish. Hands down this is one of the top 5 nail polishes ever made.
Application was quite good. You'll need 2-3 coats to get the full potential though. This is 3 coats and yuck at my dry fingers :(

Happy Boxing Day everyone! Today I'm wearing a neon blue nail polish by China Glaze called Blue Sparrow. I'm pretty sure this is part of their perm collection as I got it from Sally's about two weeks ago. It's a gorgeous glittery neon blue but it does need 3 thin coats to get opaque. I added a shiny top coat as I prefer my neons shiny.
Here it is on my nails, excuse the messy application. I was hurrying to get out of the house and into the mall, lol!

This is my first experience with OCC nail polish and I must say I'm quite pleased. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the name; like Something what? But I do like the colour. I mean I don't think I've ever met anything blue or purple that I didn't like, lol! This is a beautiful pale blue polish that applies evenly and with no streak. I would say though that the dry time is not ideal; as in it's not as quick drying as OPI polishes, maybe more like China Glaze. I've also added a thin layer of Misa Sweet Pleasures but you can hardly see it in this photo.
Anyway, here's two coats of OCC Something and one coat of Misa Sweet Pleasures:

I'm gonna have a house full of ppl in a couple of hours as the hubby and I are hosting a game night. But I have a few posts planned for this week so I thought I post at least one of them.
I'm wearing China Glaze Frost Bite which has been in my possession for about a year now but I never got a chance to swatch it. Weirdly enough, this is the nail polish the MEN compliment me the most on every time I wear it. Yes, you heard right; I wear louder and bolder colours than this but this one actually earns me thumbs up from the guys, lol! The hubby says maybe coz this is the colour of Rally Blue. I guess that could be it. Anyway, it's a gorgeous blue and looks stunning under the sunlight. I did have application issues though as I usually have with China Glaze. It applies a little unevenly for me but the wear was good. I've had a on for three days with no top coat and you see only a little bit of tip wear.
Here it is on my nail, 3 coats of it:

I know pretty much everyone has this nail polish, but I don't think I've ever swatched it on my blog. I was wearing it today so I thought why not. I was also feeling better physically so I also did my makeup (see next post).
I like For Audrey as I think it's a nice blur green that will pretty much flatter any skintone. I do have a problem with the formula, I think it's too thin. I think I need to get some polish thinner and add it to most of my China Glaze. Does any one have any specific recommendation?
This is 2 coats of For Audrey, second day wear:

Everyone has Russian Navy (by OPI), right? If you have it, you gotta try it under Essie's Matte About You. I know OPI actually did a matte Russian Navy last month but I don't have that to compare. I just layered my good old regular Russian Navy with MAY. I love the result! I must say MAY was a great buy. I'm loving all the matte combos I've done so far and this top coat has worked with all brands of nailpolish in my possession (OP, ChC, CC, Essie, Orly and Misa) equally well.
Here's two coats of Russian Navy plus one coat of MAY.
I've been on a blue nail polish kick. I mean I wear another colour sometimes during the week, but most of the week my tips (and even toes now that it's warmer) are painted blue. This is Misa's "Pour Me Something Tall and Strong" that I coated with "Sweet Pleasure" also by Misa. I like the colour PMSTAS but I find the finish kinda blah. But with some blue/teal glittery polish on top it's heaven.

Here's a swatch of Essie Sag Harbour on my nails (2 coats). I like the way Essie nailpolishes apply and last on my nails. I just find their colours a little bit boring in general. I do like this one though. It's a nice blue gray and I love it on me.
Btw, I'm still figuring out how to take pictures of my nails. I'm not happy with my progress yet!

Here's a picture of China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway that came out last year with their blue collection (cannot for the life of me remember the name). This is a nice deep blue creme but I'm not a big fan of the application. I absolutely love this blue collection and own three of the polishes but I have a hard time with every single polish when it comes to applying. I guess China Glaze formula is a hit and miss for me. The colours are just amazing and there are tones to choose from but some are just a pain in the a*** to apply.
This is 2 coats and pic taken in overcast spring day!

Bahamian Escape was part of the all blue collection China Glaze did last year, the name of the collection escapes me right now. I already had Bermuda Breakaway and Caribbean Blue so I got Bahamian Escape with my last H2T order. Guys, I honestly think this is one of my favourite nail polishes ever! It's a gorgeous sky blue and absolutely irresistible! I wore it on its own yesterday and for today I added a thin layer of ChG fairy Dust on top. Here it is:
Isn't it gorgeous? I love its creme finish and I also love it with Fairy Dust (pictured).

This nail polish was part of my nail polish haul that I posted about two weeks ago. I cannot get over how pretty this blue nail polish is. Again, I find that I have more luck with OPI as far as application is concerned. But my oh my, this colour is beautiful. I think China Glaze has been added to the list of my obsessions! Here's Caribbean Blue on my finger nails
