We had snow in the capital last night. It took me an hour and half to get from site to the mechanic to do my emission test. Then it took me another hour to get from the mechanic's to our house when the place is only 10 mins away :/ I guess everybody slows waaaaay down when the first snow falls. Anyway, I've been working a lot lately, so my stress level is quite high. I was at work from 7 am yesterday and by the time I got home it was 7:30 pm. I de-stressed by putting some nail polish on and re-watching a few True Blood episodes.

My mani of choice was Stroll by ChG which was part of their Retro Diva collection. This is a beautiful deep red glittery polish. It applies ok but you do need three coats to achieve that opaque look. I am in love with this nail polish. Here's a pic, though it doesn't do this colour justice; we're having a cloudy day again today:

In honour of the first frosty day of this fall, I did a gray/muted purple look today. I was happy with the outcome but not sure if I like the lips with this look. I should have probably balanced the coolness of the eyes with warmer lips. Well, too late now.

I'm in the office today all day and hoping to catch up with unread emails, send out my reports from Friday on and finally have a good one hour lunch, lol!

I tried the first nail polish out of my recent VNS haul and I chose ChG 2030 from their Krome Collection. This is truly an awesome gold. It's neither too warm and brassy nor too cool to have too much green. It's just perfect. I think this gold should suit most skintone. I'm personally not a fan of gold on me besides in the summer months when I have a tan but this one just blew me away.

The application was perfect. I only did one coat and that was good enough in terms of opacity. There was no brush stroke as you usually see with metalics and it dries in less than 5 minutes. The formula reminds me much of ChG Romatinques collection of last year. But I would say the Kromes are even better. I really wish ChG formula was more consistant and always like Roamtiques and Kromes, hehe...a girl can dream.

I did a girlish look today using gold and pink. I find these OCC pigments look soooo much better when used with mixing medium. The foiling effect is just amazing. I'm looking forward to picking up more in a couple of weeks when I go to IMATS.

How's everyone's day going so far? Mine has barely started. I'm going to be out of the office for lunch so I thought I post my look now.

I had quite a busy and stressful day today. I was on site inspection all day, so busy I didn't get to eat lunch :/ They were also testing the fire alarm system so bells were ringing in my head from 8 to 4 pm! Finally, when I said screw this and left to go home, I got stuck in very heavy traffic coz there was an accident in the highway and they had also closed two lanes due to construction. But guess what? When I finally got home I saw my nail polish package from VNS waiting for me!! I am so excited, all the beautiful glittery and krome nail polishes!.

Before I post my haul pic, I 100% recommend VNS for buying nail polishes, at least if you're in the US or Canada. The lady I communicated with (Yen) was very friendly and she maintained communication with me until I received my goodies. The shipping price was fair and I got my package within 4 business days.

Here's a picture of my haul. Oh, the OPI and the Essie are from Trade Secret; I picked them up on Sunday but thought I include them with this haul. I will be posting swatches as I wear these babies!

I snatched Essie's Mint Candy Apple yesterday from our local Trade Secret. Mint Candy Apple is part of Essie's winter collection and the one colour that grabbed my attanetion ever since I saw the promo picture about a month ago. I'm a big fan of pastel colours and this one is no exception. I know pastels are hard tones for most ppl to wear but I find I have no difficulties with them (with the exception of peachy pastels). The formula on this was pretty good, I did two coats to get full opacity and also the nail polish dried pretty quickly to a beautiful mint colour.

Grab this one before it's gone. It's a unique and lovely colour:

Ok, here's the look finally. Since I did a dry run last weekend this actually didn't take too long. I basically pretty much followed Candee Johnson video on YT. I already had bought this motorcycle jacket baclk in September (I love leather, you probably see a glimpse of this jacket in most of my FOTD's). I didn't have his scissor hands but I went just for the hair and makeup:



I used my Lise Watier concealer wheel to make my skin paler and then went over it with Cinema Secret white translucent powder. I sorta ereased the eyebrows (you can still see them a lil though, I have a lot of hair, haha) using gluestick and more concealer. Then I did a LOT of contouring to get Johnny Depp's chiseled face. I made the eyes look hallow and sad using eyeshadows like Cork, Copperplate, Poison Pen and Embark. Finally, Made my nosestril look more elongated using black pencil and used some Graphology on my lips for his dark lips. Finally, I teased my hair and put in tone of hair spray and some gel.
