Hello my lovelies! I did some spring cleaning this past weekend. The process included cleaning the basement and switching my winter/fall clothes to spring/summer clothes. I also re-organized my closet in the process.
While I was on that, I thought I should also clean up my nail polish stash. I got rid of a buncha shades that I wasn't using anymore and reorganized the rest based on seasons. Yes, I'm lame and actually follow the seasons when it comes to my nails! And I have this many polishes as I do change my nail polish every single night. I never go out without nail polish, I just feel naked without it.
This is all of my fall/winter shades, all over my bed! I love my vampy shades but summer is coming and these need to go in the bottom box:
and here they are neatly organized in this box I picked up from Winners:
And here are all my spring/summer shades. Getting real excited about wearing some of these again!
I put them in the divider box on top of my fall/winter box. I switched them over every 6 months:
Both the box and the divider box on top are placed on a stool next to my vanity so they are easily accessible. I love having all my pretties nearby <3
Thank Goodness this was done and now I can find the shades I need much faster. How do you guys organize your nail polish stash?

Hey lovelies! Hope you all had a great weekend. I got a buncha errands done and also went out to celebrate my P.Eng stamp finally (one month late, lol) with hubby on Saturday night. For the first blog post of this week, I'm giving you another tour of my makeup stash. This time we will look at my Chanel stuff. My first Chanel purchase ever was a glossimer 3 years ago and I've been slowly building my collection since.
1. Lip Products:
You know I'm a lipstick junkie anyway and no one does lips like Chanel!
Rouge Allure Lipsticks - I adore the rouge allure formula as it is opaque and very long lasting. Some are cream finish and others have more of a sheen. Either way Chanel offers a great selection of shades and there's something for everyone:
Left to right: Precious (amazing berry red), Vertige (coral red, perfect for this time of the year), Super (bright summer fuchsia) and Genial (the BEST neon pinky coral hands down, I literally lived in this shade last summer)
Rouge Allure Laque Lipsticks - so take everything I said about rouge allure and make it 10 times better! Rouge Allure laques are long lasting liquid lipsticks. They are also the only long lasting lip products in the market that are not drying; they feel satiny on lips. I will eventually collect them all, that's how much I love these. I really wish Chanel made more shades.
Left to right: Imperial (lovely rusty coral, very unique), Dragon (if you wanted ONE red lipstick, get this one), Coromandel (fiery orange red - this is very bold on me and I love it), Phoenix (lovely strawberry pink, one of my most worn Chanels)
Rouge Coco Lipsticks - These lipsticks are not as long lasting as the previous two, but they do wear a good 4 hours on my lips. They are also a bit sheerer. Rouge Coco was created to re-introduce women to lipsticks. I was already well acquainted with lipsticks obviously but I still love the Rouge Coco's.
Left to right: Rouge Noir (the classic vamp in new formula, my most beloved dark lipstick), Cambon (pink red - if I were to keep ONE lipstick in my stash, this would be it), Orchidee (lovely light coral), Teheran (amazing light pink coral, this is a bit frostier)
Lipglosses - So most of these are my glossimers. I adore glossimers as they have very unique reflecting quality. They are the more luxe and grownup version of MAC dazzleglasses, last quite a bit longer and photograph amazing! I also have one Rouge Allure Laque Extrait de Gloss. This formula is very creamy but not as long lasting. I like the shade I have but I prefer the glossimers.
Left to right: Meteor (rose copperwith multi-reflects), Pleasing (nude with gold reflects), Venus (amazing coral red), Jupiter (my go-to gloss for pinky coral lipsticks), Pink Teaser (my all time fave pink lipgloss) and Emoi (gorgeous watermelon pink)
2. Face Products:
I don't really own many Chanel face products but absolutely love what I do have. Vitalumiere Aqua in B20 is my current HG foundation (see my review here), the Poudre Universelle (in Peche) is finely milled and great for touch ups. I adore my Plum Attraction Joues Contrast blush is the best plum blush in the market and goes well with my vampy lip looks.
Plum Attraction blush, Vitalumiere Aqua (B20), Poudre Universelle (Peche)
3. Eye Products:
Again I only have a few items in this category. Ombre Perlees quint is my current most favourite makeup item though. I use this palette pretty much every other day. The shade have a slight cream finish to them and dry very pearly. It's the most unique finish eyeshadow I ever tried and absolutely love it. Too bad this palette was a Spring 2011 LE item. Cassis eyeliner is a lovely dark red toned purple and holds very well without base on upper and lower lashline. I'm almost out of this one. Inimitable Intense mascara is great for holding volume and I love this shade, Rouge Noir, which is a burgundy and makes my my hazel eyes pop.
Cassis, Ombre Perlees and Inimitable Intense mascara
4. Nail Polishes
I only have two Chanel nail polishes but both are very unique shades with fabulous finish. Paradoxal was released last fall and is a darkened gray purple. Absolute HG in my book as I adore dark polishes. Black Pearl was released this spring and is a pearly blackened blue green. Another unique shade, I'm wearing it right now actually!

Do you guys own any of these products? What are some of your favourite Chanel makeup items?

After the positive feedback of the first stash pics, in this post I will be showing you my Makeup Forever collection. Makeup Forever (MUFE) is one my top three makeup brands next to Nars and MAC. My love affair with this brand started with the famous #92 eyeshadow and once I discovered its awesomeness, I went back for more. As a lover of colour, I appreciate how opaque and long lasting everything is.
If you have any questions or require specific recommendations, please let me know.
1. Foundations
MUFE makes amazing foundations for every skin type out there. What I really like about their products is the wide range of shades they offer, especially for the HD foundation. I use all three of the foundations below regularly. Face & Body gets used on a daily basis in the summer, HD is my going out foundation and Duo Matte is the best powder foundation ever created. I take it with me when I travel.
Left to right: F&B (shade#32), Duo Matte (shade #205), HD (shade #118)
2. Eye Products:
I have accumulated more MUFE eyeshadows since the success with #92 back in early 2008. I think MUFE makes some of the best matte eyeshadows in the market and there are so many shades to chose from. I find their shimmery shades to be lacking in pigmentation comparatively though. I use #92 (needs no more praise, lol), #9, #5 (soft beautiul coral), #26 and #49 the most though I love them all. #15 and #112 are essential for a soft spring or bridal looks.
Left to right, top to bottom: #75, #83 (dupe for MAC Parrot), #93, #39, #18, #26, #9, #92, #192 and #18
Left to right: #15, #112, #49 and #183
I only have one MUFE eyeliner (in shade gold) but I love how long lasting this is. I also have one of their metal pigments (#4) and am very impressed. The pigmented is very finely milled and offers a true metallic finish. What's not to love?
Kohl pencil in 7K and metal pigment in #4
Aqua cream pots can be used on eyes, lips and cheeks depending on the colour. These are a bit like MAC paint pots except MUFE offers more colour options. I use them as coloured base on my eyes and they do not crease on me (I don't have oily lids though).
Aqua Cream #5 (peach) and #22 (emerald green)
3. Lip Products:
My favourite part is always the lip section! Though I must admit I never paid any attention to MUFE lipsticks (I only had two lip liners from them) until the release of the rouge intense artist formula. I am absolutely in love with these babies as I love me some opaque shades. Shade #37 was my summer go-to, #48 is the most amazing burgundy and if you want a true purple, look no further than #15.
Let to right: #15 (purple) #13 (berried red), #48 (burgundy), #43 (neutral red), #34 (watermelon), #37 (pinky coral)
MUFE lip liners follow the rest of the brands philosophy; they go on opaque and are super long lasting. I really need to pick up more of these:
Aqua Lip Liners in #12C and #16C
Hope you guys enjoyed this post. What are some of your favourite MUFE products?

January 12, 2011
Continuing on the week of giving my new eyes a break and not wearing eye makeup, I decided to start showing you my makeup collection. I've had a few requests from readers who wanted to see my stash and I think photographing it has shown me that I have TOO MUCH STUFF! And hopefully help me achieve my makeup no-buy which is supposed to last till March.
I will start this series with my favourite makeup brand, Nars Cosmetics. I was introduced to Nars in 2007 when I purchased Deep Throat blush and have not been able to look back. Nars is a pricier brand than say MAC but I have faith in their products as everything I've purchased has excelled in performance in my book. If you have any questions or need any specific Nars recommendation, ask away. I will be happy to help :)
1. Face Products:
I adore Nars foundations and especially the sheer glow formula which I use on a daily basis. This product is best applied with fingers and gives an amazing finish.
Nars foundations: Sheer Glow in Santa Fe and Sheer Matte in Fiji (both great match for NW25 skintones)
Nars Laguna is the best bronzer I've ever tried and I've tried plenty. I wear bronzers most of the time and Laguna is subtle enough in the winter yet shows up amazing with my summer tan.
Laguna Bronzer and Maldives Multiple. Not pictured Illuminator in Orgasm (my sister borrowed it)
Nars was made famous with their blushes. I find their blushes much more pigmented than both Chanel and MAC (which I still love, lol) and I never seem to hit the pan in them :D
Top to bottom, left to right blushes: Madly (great neutral on light to medium skintones), Deep Throat (my everyday shade), Desire (perfect doll cheeks), Sin (great fall staple), Gilda (coral awesomeness)
2. Eyeshadows:
As you can tell, I have a weakness with Nars Eyeshadow Duo's. This is where Nars is a hit and miss though. Some duo's are amazingly pigmented and some not so much. I always swatch them and read reviews before buying. They can be used dry or wet and you get a tone of product for the price.
Top to bottom, left to right: Eurydice (OMG at that plum), Star Sailor, Rajasthan, Cordura (best neutral duo ever made), Jolie Poupee, Scorching Sun (great summer shades), Pandora (smokey eyes in mins), South Pacific, Habanera (the mint is amazing), Bali single (my fave taupe shade)
3. Lip Products:
Nars offers lipsticks in matte, semi matte and sheer formula and I love all three categories. Their matte lipsticks don't read too drying on my lips. I also highly encourage you to check out the matte velvet pencils. They're matte but feel satiny on and very long lasting. I like their lipglosses as they're not sticky. I need to get more (after March, lol!)
Left to right: Roman Holiday, Niagara (looooove), Afghan Girl, Heat Wave (awesome orange red), Schiap (best hot pink), Sex Machine mvp (delish neutral pink), Damned (vampy lover must), Dragon Girl (a better version of MAC Ruby Woo), Risky Business (great neutral gloss), Babe (hot over warm reds).
Hope you enjoyed this post. What are some of your fave Nars products?

October 5, 2010
Here's a back to basic look for you guys. You know I love my red lips, I always end up coming back to this type of looks. It isn't anything super special but I thought I share anyways. Also, I love my Nars Dragon Girl matte velvet pencils. These pencils are great coz though they are in pencil form, they are actually long wearing lipsticks and you don't need to line your lips with them. So far I have three but need to add to my collection. Haven't bought any Nars pencil the entire 2010, lol!
Oh and I'm still testing MAC's new Pro Longwear foundation and still liking it. How do you think it looks on my face?

I didn't get a chance to do any blogging yesterday. I was cleaning up after Saturday night's party and that took a while. Especially cleaning the fondue set :/ The hubby and I went to my parents at around 3. He took off on a business trip soon after that. My sister and I spent the remaining of the day shopping, swimming in my parents pool and sunbathing. I got a much deeper tan now, hehe.
So Sunday was fun. On the downside, since I slept over at my parents and my sleep location was different, I only got 2 hours of sleep last night. It's been an incredibly hard day at work because of that. I'm gonna try to be good and still go to the gym after work but we'll see.
Here's part 3 of the makeup stash. This is going to be all lip products plus mix products. I was in a hurry at the end of the picture taking process and missed some photos :/ Let me know if you have any questions.
