Hey everyone! Still no baby for me, lol! I mean it's not really my due date yet I still have 9 days left but I've started the count down already. Which is probably not good as I'd be twice as disappointed if I end up going in late.

I wanted to wear dark lips again today inspired by very clear signs of fall and I shopped my stash for MAC Seeds of Desire Mattene (LE). I love the Mattene formula and I believe it's the best MAC has ever come up with. Really not sure why they won't make this formula permanent and get rid of their frosts and creamsheens. But anyway, Seeds of Desire is a dark brown lipstick but the red undertones make it wearable in my opinion.  I know most people are intimidated by brown on the lips but this one can actually work if you are confident enough :)

Here's my outfit of the night (we had people over for dinner): Banana republic linen maxi skirt from ast year which is a pregnancy staple of mine now, plus a black tank top from Le Chateau and leopard print belt from Aldo. I think the necklace was from Aldo as well.

I did a simple dutch braid at the back of my hair which you may be able to see in the mirror behind me:

Hope you all start a wonderful week :)

Hey lovelies! Hope you all had a great weekend. It was another busy one for me and my husband but we managed to squeeze in a date night. We went to one of our favourite restaurants in town and then went for a late night stroll and enjoyed a tasty treat from one of the best gelato places in town.

I dolled it up for the date night with my go-to smokey cat eyes. I like the cat affect as it adds more "oomph" to the standard smokies and really elongate and compliment my eye shape. Next time you're slapping your taupe, gray, brown or black shades, try extending the outer corner into a cat eye shape and you won't be disappointed. Use a tape on the outer edge if you have to (I didn't coz I do this look a lot). But the key is to layer the colours gradually and blend first with a small brush (like MAC 219) and then buffing with a bigger domed brush (like MAC 217).

Hope you enjoy this look, have an amazing week :)

Hello loves! This past weekend was quite busy for us as hubby and I did our maternity photoshoot on Friday evening and then attended the mehndi and wedding celebration of a very close friend of ours.

Day 1: For the Mehndi, I wore a summery yellow sari with blue/green flowers I had borrowed from a friend. It was quite challenging wrapping it and I think in the end I didn't quite do it right (my first time putting on a sari). For the makeup, I went matchy-matchy with my sari. My indian friends told me that's actually encouraged :D

And here's some pics of me wearing my sari. My friend's blouse didn't fit as the blouses are always custom made to the woman so I just wore a teal tank top I had under it.

Day 2: For the wedding, I went for more dramatic liner and darker shadows. I wanted to incorporate the traditional Indian wedding colours (gold and red) and this is what I came up with. My Indian friends were pretty impressed actually :P

And here's the next sari (borrowed from the same friend so it's missing the blouse). I wore the same style tank top as the day before only in red to compliment this sari:

I had quite bit of fun at both events and dressing up for them. My biggest gripe is that I'm VERY minimal with jewelry and no matter how much I tried, I just couldn't pile up the bangles, necklace AND earrings that most Indian ladies too. It was still fun wearing the saris though, it makes one feel like the queen :D

Hope you enjoyed this post. Have you guys ever dressed up in ethnic clothing of a culture that is not your own (like me and my sari here)? Did you feel comfortable or did you think you stood out for miles? I felt like everyone was looking at me as I didn't think my sari was tied right, lol!

Hey beauties and happy Monday! I have another smokey brown look to share with you from last week. I know I do this look a lot but it's so simple and always makes me look put together so I cannot resist it. After trying many different products I've concluded that Nars Cordura duo is my favourite way to achieve this look at least in the summer. Chanel Empire Rouge Allure Laque is the perfect light pink lipstick to accent a bolder eye like you see here:

And here's outfit of the day. I like floral always and so happy the trend is back this spring/summer with less delicate and more abstract prints. I got this dress at Old Navy and am loving it. Love that my bump fits in it yet I can wear it later too. I added a light white cardigan and wedges from Guess:

Hey lovelies! This is a look from last Friday worn under the scorching run. I went for simple outfit and makeup and popping red retro lips!

I'm literally living in my maxi dresses and skirt but this BCBG light jersey number has got to be my favourite! It's soooo comfortable on my preggo belly and is high waisted so the light stretchy band covers my entire belly. I paired it with a simple tank top from Smart Set and my flat leather sandals from Gap (which you cannot see in pic):

BCBG

For the makeup, I kept it glowy and simple all over and went bold on the lips. I'm wearing one of my favourite lip products ever (and that is a tall order), Nars Dragon Girl. I only have a third of it left and cannot rave enough about this gorgeous retro red. The texture is awesome and despite owning more than 20 red lipsticks now, this remains one of my top 3 reds. Highly recommended to bold lips lovers!

I'm on fire this week with FOTD's! Funny enough my stressed out self is more imaginative and creative! Weird but it works for the blogging I suppose....

I'm a fan of looks that can achieve maximum impact with minimal number of products used. For that reason, I love me some cat shape smokey eyes. I only used two eyeshadows for this look; an all over look plus the purple to draw and fill in the cat eye. I left it un-blended as I wanted the cat eye to be dramatic and more high fashion, hahaha! It took a lot of effort not to blend the line though, I literally had to hide my MAC 217 brush!!! I also wore my beloved MAC Snob l/s, AGAIN! I know Snob is not really a fan fave but I love it on me and currently half way done my second tube. One of my first MAC purchases and still a fave of mine with weekly use.

Btw, if you follow me on Instagram, you probably see these looks a day or so before I post them here. My Instagram user ID is shadowy_lady.

Anyhuw, here's the look, hope you like :)

Outfit of the day is this paisley dress from Smart Set (super old) that you've probably seen me wear a lot. It's one of the few non-maxi dresses that still fit my preggo belly. The white denim jacket by Gap is also a summer staple of mine. I'm not a fan of blue denim jackets but the white I wear over and over again. Nude sandals are Nine West's:

June 6, 2012

hey guys! Despite stressful things happening around me these dayes, I've actually been doing my makeup every single day so I have FOTD's to post :D

I like the idea of shimmery almost liquid eyeshadows paired with flat matte lips, especially in the summer. Even better if the lips are very bold and the eyes are pretty neutral. So this is what I did for my look yesterday. I used one of Shiseido's Hydra Eyeshadows win a pink shade with green duochromes. I haven't seen these around lately though...does anyone know if they've been discontinued? I hope not! I really wanted to grab a few more. They're the ideal product for achieving an almost wet eye look. I used Nars Heat Wave, one of my all time fave summer lipstick, to punch up the lips.

Anyhuw, here's the look, hope you like it :)

Outfit of the day was this bright blue maxi dress purchased at Winners earlier this spring. I added a light weight white cardi from Smart Set (old) and a yellow linen scarf also from Winners to cover the cleavage and the exposed back for work. This was a super comfy outfit, and got me compliments from the girls in the office :)

Hi beauties! I've been going through some issues so you may see my posts a bit more inconsistently than normal. I may share at some point but for now please keep me in your thoughts.

I had done this look today though and quite liked it despite it being super simple so I thought I share. The light and pearly shades of the limited edition Chanel quint from Spring 2011 really open my eyes and look very summer appropriate. This quint was definitely a great investment as I keep going back to it over and over again and creating new combinations. Every single shade in that palette is just gorgeous! I paired the eyes with MAC Gladiola (LE - from 2 years ago I think?) which is a lovely purple toned fuchsia.

Let me know what you think :)

I love side bun hair styles and am always looking for new ideas. I just think having my hair on one side is much more flattering on my face than having it up in a poney or high bun. In this case, you can't see very well but I made a simple side braid and rolled it up and pinned it into a bun. Then I just added this fuchsia flower hair pin to go with my lipstick :D

And outfit of the day - gray stripy maxi dress was a bargain from Forever 21. Lol you're probably tired of seeing the same routine of maxi dresses from me. But I'm not about to get tired of them, they fit!!! I belted it with a bow belt from Aldo and am wearing a simple pink cardigan from Smart Set and leather flats from the Gap.

Hey lovelies! this is a forgotten look from last week that I just never got around to sharing. I've become obsessed with this burnt orange maxi dress and seem to wear it once every few days. I went from orange shy to full on orange lover this summer.

Is there a colour that used to intimidate your but you now fully embrace?

For the makeup, I used my trustee Nars Cordura duo (every makeup kit's must) and added some MAC Saffron to make it pop some. I muted my red lips down to a nude shade with MAC Myth and then applied Nars Wonder l/g, a bright happy orange on top.

Hope you like this look :)

And here's the infamous orange maxi dress again. This time I accessorized it more (mainly to cover my cleavage as this was worn to work). The crochet cardigan I've had forever and no idea where I bought it from, scarf is from H&M and the sandals are by Steve Madden. I wear this sandals all the friggin time. They'r some comfortable and I appreciate them even more now that I'm pregnant:

Hey beauties! It's hard going back to work today after an amazing long weekend but you gotta do what you gotta do. I officially have only 12 weeks left before my maternity leave begins so I try to take it easy already and not stress.

I have done a look similar to this a few times already but it's just one of those dramatic looks that work. I love the bold fuchsia and purple during the warm season and they bring out my eyes so I can't lose. I went simpler on the lips and wore one of my favourite pinks, Nars Roman Holiday Lipstick.

Hope you enjoy this look :) and ughhh my skin is still looking burnt :(

This is the dress I wore with the look above. We were hosting a Victoria Day brunch and I went for girlie pattern on the dress. This one is by Espirit (last year) and yey it still fits my belly! I'm sad that Espirit is closing their North American stores. They have some great basic sweaters and summer dresses :( My hair is just in a french braid as I just washed it before our guests arrived:
