On my trip to the mall, I stopped by the Chanel counter to ask if they'll have the new Rouge Coco lipstick out tomorrow. To my surprise, they already had them in! It seems like the Bay in Canada got these babies before any of the stores in the US. I really wanted to try this new lipstick coz I keep hearing raves about them.
I only ever had one Chanel makeup item and that was a quad given to me when I was 18. I remember not really liking it though and I don't even know where that quad is anymore. But I've been intrigued by Chanel lipsticks lately and thought what better time than today! I was at the counter trying out 10 of the 30 lipsticks they offered for an hour. I became super chummy with the sales lady who let me brows as long as I wanted. I ended up with No.31 Cambon and No.56 Teheran.
My pretties in their boxes!
almost opened!
yummy! Teheran on the left and Cambon on the right
Teheran is a glossy pinky coral and the first Rouge Coco I wanted to try. The reason being the name. Teheran is the way French folks pronounce Tehran, the capital of Iran. This is the city I was born in and spent my chilhood so you can see why I like the name. The lipstick itself is gorgeous on my skintone. I think I have mentioned here that I have some difficulties with warm pinks and corals but this one is ultra-flattering. I would say anyone especially ladies with fair to light medium skintone can rock this shade.
Cambon is a super rich raspberry red. If you've been following Beautyspot for a while you know that I'm a lover of red lipsticks and can never pass up a good red. This particular shade has a very pink tone to it so it's not blood red or vampy red. This is actually the type of red I was missing in my stash. I think this particular shade will suite every skintone.
Swatches on my arm. These are taken in the bathroom so imagine the colours "pinker" as you see here.
Overall, both lipsticks I purchased and all the ones I tried at the counter are very pigmented. They apply very smoothly and even Cambon doesn't seem to bleed out. Another positive is that these feel so light on, like you're not wearing any lipsticks. The only down side is the price as with all Chanel products. They cost $38CAD. However, I'm loving these two shades so much that I'm planing on going back for a few more.
Hope you enjoyed this mini review and swatches. Will do lip swatches as soon as we get some sunshine here in the Capital.
What do you guys think of Rouge Coco? Have you purchased any or are you planing on getting some? What colours are you interested in?

Ooo a pricey haul! ;)
Love the colours and I'll definitely look into these babies.
I only own a Chanel Lip Laque Gloss in Dragon (Red).

Zerin - I love the look of Dragon, I might need to get that one. You will love the Rouge coco, they're very pigmented and smooth ;)

The story behind Teheran is neat :) And it's even more fitting since it's a coral that works for you!
I'm not sure I'd personally pay $38 for a lipstick though :S Seems a little pricey to me.

ooh soooooooooo pretty! Why did I have to read this post -- now I want to check these out. LOL. These are gorgeous!! I only have one Chanel lipstick but would love more. These are priced in the same league as my beloved YSL Rouge Voluptes.
Can't wait to see your FOTDs with these on.
