Hey beauties! It's so warm here these days that I always feel like wearing shades of gold and tan on my eyes. I forced myself out of the rut by adding some fuchsia shades in the crease of my eyes. I also notice that I have waaaay too many gold eyeshadows and pigments. This is one of those areas that I don't need any more products, lol! That and in the lipstick department.

On other news, I'm still working on the 30-Day Shred by Jillian Michael and now I'm on level 3. It's totally kicking me in the ass but it's also good for me. For the first time in my life, I have muscles even on my ass, lol!

Hi beauties! I present you another instalment of the tried and true series. I know, it's another lipstick. I can't help it that most of my all time faves end of being lip products, I'm a lipstick junkie at heart!

Chanel Genial Rouge Allure was released with their summer 2010 collection as in my humble opinion is the PERFECT summer lipstick. Genial is an opaque and creamy pinky coral that's bright without being full on neon. I find this shade universally flattering, on me (light medium, cool undertones) it adds amazing warmth and a pop of colour. It also looks gorgeous on both fairer and darker skin girls. I bought this lipstick in April 2010 and wore the heck out of it last summer. I started going back to this year again as soon as we hit the double digit temperatures. Check it out:

Genial on NW25 skintone

Now Genial might be the perfect lipstick, but it was also sadly limited edition. I have quite a few pinky coral lipsticks in my stash though and the closest I have to it are MUFE Rouge Artist #37 (though the MUFE is bolder) and Nars Niagara (Niagara is lighter and less opaque). MAC Impassioned is much more pink and also more neon, MAC Vegas Volt is a lot more orange. You can see some comparison pics here.

Hi beauties! I slept pretty terribly last night and tried to put on as much bright makeup to make myself look more fresh (I seem to go brighter the less sleep I get). I guess this is a flower inspiration, though I'm not quite sure which flower, lol! Hope you guys like it anyway :)

What are your plans for the weekend? I'm going for brunch with a gf tomorrow and then have ppl over for dinner. My parents are also back from their Euro vacation so I'm going to visit them on Sunday for lunch.

Hey guys! I'm getting a bit more into this whole nail art thing. I kinda like to do free handing hence I haven't purchased any konad kits so far. I prefer to get better at the free hand stuff to be honest. So this is what I did to my nails yesterday:

First I applied two coats of my favourite pink nail polish in the universe, China Glaze Strawberry Fields. Lord know what will happen when I finish this bottle. I have like 80 pink polishes and always come back to this. Anyhuw, then I added a bit of OPI Bring on the Bling just on top of the tips. I didn't really use a tape or anything so it looks a bit uneven. But like I said I'm trying to practice my hand, lol!

Hey my lovelies! There used to be a time when I was a big MAC pigments fiend and collected them all restlessly. I followed all their releases like it was my job, lol! Gone are those days, those were 2007 to early 2009. Nowadays I buy what's truly unique to my stash. So most of my purchases in the last year and half include non-MAC items.

The last MAC pigment I recall purchasing was Partylicious. This is a jaw-dropping beautiful aqua blue. I have a lot of teal/aqua shades but none I love as much as this shade. I wish MAC made more unique colours again. I used my beloved Partylicious with some gold and other teal shades on my eyes and paired it with neutral lips. Hope you guys like.

Oh and from now on I'm gonna look ghostly in my flash pics...damn you SPF50!

To celebrate reaching 500 followers, I'm trying to go back to some of the series I used to have in this blog instead of just posting daily FOTD's. One of my favourite activities is cooking, I think I even enjoy it more than doing my makeup. I get home from work, pour myself a glass of Shiraz and get to it. I feel so much more relaxed by the time I'm done. And hubby loves it too, he says everyone envies his meals at his office lunch table.

Today's recipe is a steak salad. I love me some hearty salad as temperature goes up and this one is one of my all time favourites:

You need to cut an English cucumber in very tiny slices (think noodles) and toss with a chopped jalapeno pepper, juice of one lime and 1 tbsp of soy sauce. Then add 1/2 of red onion, 8-oz of bean sprouts and 1/2 cup of chopped mint. Toss the salad and add salt and pepper. Grill a 10-oz sirloin steak on the grilles which is marinated with some oyster sauce. Once cooked, cut the steak into thin slices and serve on top of the cucumber salad, voila!

Hey lovelies! I'm hating my eyebrows these days and my mom (who threads my eyebrows for me) is on vacation in Europe so I have to deal for now. I tried the best I could with the makeup though, lol! I did a pink toned eye look with a more defined blue eyeliner (I love you MUFE Aqua Cream in #22).

Yesterday was also my first day back at work after a 10-day vacation. I spent all day reading emails! I already feel caught up and back at them though. I also missed being super swamped with work, believe it or not! Hope you guys like this look.

Hey lovelies! I'm finally back from my 10-day vacation in Hamilton/Toronto and Buffalo. I had the most amazing time with some of my favourite people and could not be more relaxed right now. Sometimes, it's not about the destination (I've been to Toronto more than I care to count, lol), but about the people you spend time away from home.

I thought I share some pictures with you. Hope you enjoy them :)

This pic was taken Up the Mountains in Hamilton. We climbed 500 steps to get up there. Amazing workout :D

Hey lovelies! Just a quick note to let you know that I will be off for 10 days starting today vacationing in Toronto, Hamilton/Niagara Falls area and Buffalo. I'm mainly visiting family in TO, doing biking wine tours in Niagara area and then hiking and shopping in Buffalo. This is a much needed time away for me after the super stressed out month and half here at work.

I will be back to regularly scheduled posts after May 24th :)

Hey my lovelies! I'm under a lot of stress these days at work so my posts don't seem very exciting. I was away on business for a week and obviously a lot piled up while I was away. I'm also off for a week starting May 14th and hence I need to close a bunch of projects and put out many fires before I leave. I really cannot wait till my boss hires a help, this is getting a bit ridiculous!

Anyway, this is a simple look I did for today but I still liked it. It's getting nice and warm here finally so I'm craving bright colours more. Hope you guys like this look.

Hey lovelies! I've mentioned before that I don't really like green eyeshadows on myself so you don't often see me sporting this colour. For some reason though, on Monday I wanted to wear my Lucky Green e/s and then went all out green. It might be because it's finally sunny and warm here and all lawns are lush and green, lol!

Hey lovelies! I spent one lone free afternoon in Quebec City exploring the malls on Laurier street. I had seen them before but that was over 4 years ago and there were quite a few new stores added. I didn't end up buying much but did get some cosmetics, duh!

So I found out that the Sephora in QC actually carries Shiseido! I've never seen it being carried in any Sephoras here in Ontario so I was excited. I picked up one of their Hydro powder shadows in H4 - Spring Plum. This is a gorgeous creamy plum shade with some golden green duochromes. Very lovely and very unique. I also adore the packaging for these eyeshadows; they're the cutest cream shadows I've ever seen:

I also got another MUFE Aqua Cream Pot in shade #20 which is a vibrant dark blue. I was already a big fan of these pots and I knew eventually I'd get more, I do a lot of smokey blue eyes so this will come in handy. Check it out:

Then I swing by the Shoppers and used some points to get one of the new Rouge Automatiques by Guerlain. I chose shade Rose Bengal which is a lovely rose shade with slight gold shhimmer. This is the ideal summer shade to me and I don't seem to have a dupe for it. I can tell you that this sucker stays put! I applied it this morning and it's still on quite unchanged and I had pasta with cream sauce for lunch! Totally in love with this lipstick which was my first experience with Gurlain, will go back for more:

Hey my lovelies! I'm back from the one week trip in Quebec City finally and back to normal blogging. Over the weekend, BeautySpot made it to 500 followers! I am so thrilled and excited to finally make it here. Thank you to my existing followers for continuing support of this blog and welcome my new followers, hope you find BeautySpot a great place to inspire and be inspired.

My parents hosted a fairly large party this past Saturday with about 60 ppl in attendance so I went for a bright silver and blue look. My bangs looks pretty long in these pics but I did trim them again the next day. Hope you guys will enjoy this look :)
